Any one else having problems with them? Two weeks ago I got to spend the night at St Agnes, Dr A though I had an inflamed colon, it was discovered to to a kidney stone, this week had another round,, damn they hurt,,, not sure if it was the same stone or a different. (Uroligyst says a 2mm stone should have passed by now) Xrays were not 100%, he saw three "things" two he said were not stones, one maybe. I have pain in the bladder,, where the "maybe" is,, right now feeling better. I am going back to see him in 10 days.

Tom,

So sorry to hear about your kidney stones!  I had kidney stone problems 2 months before my surgery.  Come to find out, I don't have calcium stones, but rather uric acid stone (think gout).  It is important to confirm what kind of stones they are; calcium doesn't contribute to my type.  I still have large ones, but then again, I am a woman.  :)

If you haven't seen a urologist, I would do it ASAP.  For my kind of stones, there was a medicine I took to help break down the uric acid in my kidneys.  Dr. Schweitzer recommended Dr. Matlaga at Hopkins in case I had problems after surgery; he specializes in kidney stones.  His number is 410-955-6100.

Hope this helps!

Kris

I saw a uroligist Thursday, I found a small red something in the strainer this am,, not sure if it is a stone,, but I saved it anyway.

I get calcium kidney stones all the time.  If they are too big to come out, they can do a lithotripsy (shoot 'em up with a laser).
