Hello everyone I am looking for local support

Hey everyone!

I am 5 weeks out from being banded with the realize band and have been hanging out in the lapband realize band fourms. They are awesome but I really wanted to find some local folks and maybe a local support group to come too. My doctor is in virginia and althougth he has monthly support meetings they are so far away for me to get to on time from work. I live in southern md but work in upper marlboro.

Melissa, welcome to the MD board. There are many people here that are willing to help and give advice. I can tell you that there is a support group meeting in Crofton at least once a month. It is held at Crofton Library.Kelly is the leader at the meeting in Crofton. There is also a new support group in Prince Fredrick that was just started recently. The leader there is Melissa and she is a very kind honest person. I am sure they both will see this and chime in with all the info you need. If not just let me know and I will try to help you. Hi Melissa,
Welcome to the Md board and congrats on your decision to have WLS. Unfortunately, I don't live near where you live or work. I also had VSG , not the band! You can look for, Sugar free Candy, Gingerma, or Nikki. I know for sure that these gals have been banded successfully. All 3 of the women are sweet, kind and knowledgeable. I am sure if you connect with any of these gals, they will answer your questions, and tell you their experiences with the band. I wish you luck, Leslie:)
