I am not much of a soup person. The only ones I make really are veggie beef and a shrimp soup.

I love the clam chowders and cream of crab but I guess those aren't too good for wls patients, huh?

I've never tried to make a cream of crab or a chowder...

i do crab soup... but i'm lazy about it... spicy v8, frozen mixed veggies barley instead of potatoes and canned crab...

It is normally made with Chicken but I use Turkey Burger instead but you could do either, I just personal prefer the turkey burger.

When I make mine I use the seasoning packet for it. It is usually in the aisle near all the ones like McCormick etc.  It calls for white beans verses red beans.  Then I will dice up green peppers, tomatoes, a bit of red onion, and add a little bit of corn. Its has a very mexican food taste. I love it because the white beans to me don't have such an overpowering flavor like red beans do.

One of my pre surgery favs is Cream of Crab so I asked the hubby next time to try and make it for me with skim milk to see if that helps?  He's the cook! If any of you experts has any ideas Id listen. I tried to eat some blended progresso chowder that was low cal tonight but it had trouble getting past my tongue so I guess I will pass on that for now. I also would like beef stew and chicken noodle.

I confess to having Cream of Crab when I was on mushies! I could only eat a little bit, so I figured it couldn't hurt me too much. Plus it was the "healthiest" thing I could find on a bar menu. It was right after a viewing I went to, and some of us went to a bar afterwards and I was starving. I guess this is the lesson that you should take food with you! Kinda hard in the mushy stage though... unless you want to look like a weirdo eating baby food or something LOL.

I also LOVE White Chicken Chili. I've only made it once and it was good, but not quite as good as Ruby Tuesday's version mmmm.

I like beef stew too, but haven't made any since surgery. Hmmm I might have to do that this weekend!  How do you guys keep your stews moist?  I always seem to burn everything on the bottom of the pot.Of course, most of the time I start it in the crockpot and then do other things... could be it just loses the water?

My all time favorite I made and eat like crazy is out of Dan's cook book, it's taco soup.  It is nothing but a bowl FULL of protein.  It has, ground beef, diced toms, black beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, for the life of mean I forget the other bean, corn, taco seasoning and ranch seasoning.  Top it off with cheese and it is so Yummy!!

That and Chilli I live on them.
