3 THINGS FOR WEDNESDAY
Today, I'm grateful for:
1. My Mom - As always, she's been my number one supporter and the best nurse a girl could ask for! Gotta love a Mom who thinks a hot cup of tea cures it all! And you know what? She's right!!!
2. My Happy - She's been shadowing me. When I nap, she naps, when I'm up, she's up! She's also very protective, which is good/bad - she bit Mom the other night as Mom was handing me a cup of tea!!!
3. My friends and my George for checking on me and asking if I need anything. I really don't, but I love all of you for asking!!
My brother's taking me to get some things from my car this afternoon I'm afraid to see it!! And even worse, I'm actually afraid to drive right now. But I'll have to tomorrow, so I'll just suck it up.
Have a great day everyone!

Tia...I am sure you have "purple pride" coming out in places you would rather no have it! I am happy that you are taking the time off tho so you can allow yourself to begin the healing process, both physically & mentally. I know a few years back my husband was in a terrible accident & afterwards he expressed the same concern about not wanting to drive, and he is a professional driver.....but I do think it is normal. ang tough girly, it will get better!
Today I am grateful for:
1}my cat scan today!!!!! Normally I would not be grateful for such a thing, but I pray that it reveils why I am dizzy!
2}for having a circle of friends & family who push me to better myself in many ways & inspire me to help others......I start college back up in a few weeks, I a doing the polar bear plunge on the 30th, I have now been convinced to do the Avon breast cancer walk in May.......they sure are keeping me busy!
3}for remote starting cars! {{{sorry Tia :( }}} I hate going outside this early to start a car when its soooo cold!!!!!!
Have a great day everyone!!!!
Starting weight 301 Current weight 127
No Matter How I May Change, I Will Still Be ME!!!!
Morning Hojo!!! Yeah, purple pride!!! LOL!!! Thanks for the hugs and words of encouragement, both here and on FB.
Here's something to keep your spirits up while they figure out what's going on with you:
A man runs into the vet's office carrying his dog, screaming for help. The vet rushes him back to an examination room and has him put his dog down on the examination table. The vet examines the still, limp body and after a few moments, tells the man that his dog, regrettably, is dead. The man, clearly agitated and not willing to accept this, demands a second opinion.
The vet goes into the back room and comes out with a cat and puts the cat down next to the dog's body. The cat sniffs the body, walks from head to tail, poking and sniffing the dog's body and finally looks at the vet and meows.
The vet looks at the man and says, "I'm sorry, but the cat thinks that your dog is dead, too."
The man, finally resigned to the diagnosis, thanks the vet and asks how much he owes. The vet answers, "$350."
"$350 to tell me my dog is dead?!" exclaims the man.
"Well," the vet replies, "I would only have charged you $50 for my initial diagnosis. The additional $300 was for the cat scan."
LOL!! I'm sure you've heard that before, but I thought it was appropos!!! Good luck today and keep us posted!!!
The plunge is a great event!!! I haven't forgotten you!!!!
Hugs,
Tia
Heather, good luck with your scan today. Hopefully this will give your doc's some information. Great for the college and the plunge. I sent my envelope the other day. It is not much but I do hope it helps. Let me know if you do the Avon walk. I will try to help you. Remote start and heated seats what more can you ask for? Praying for you today. Hang in there.

Good Morning all:
Tia - glad to hear you're taking the day off and on the mend. In something as bad as it sounds like you went through some times the body heals faster than the mind - from what I know you're resilient and bounce back
Heather - here's hoping that your tests today come up with a simple and easy explanation for your dizziness - the miracles of modern science.
Today I am grateful for
1. Today my wife comes home from a three day business trip. Maybe this explains why I've been so cold at night
2. My gowear band. Simply knowing that there's something counting the steps I take each day motivates me. For instance this morning I was filling my car with gas (before the sun rose I might add, lol) and rather than going back into the car and sitting while it filled, I started walking circles aroud the car to get some extra steps in. I may have looked psycho - but why start worrying about that now?
3. My new "keep me warm in the office" cardigan sweater. Being cold is a whole new experience for me. So I've decided not to fight it but to just do what's neccessary to keep myself warm. This includes buying a sweater that I can keep in the office for those days when I am not feeling the heat love. It's working wonders this morning
Hope you all have a safe and wonderful day.
Yeah, my head's having a hard time wrapping around everything that's happened. My b/f called last night and said, "And stop replaying it in your mind!" LOL!!! That's EXACTLY what I've been doing. I do need to rest mentally and physically.
I remember my first cold season after wls. OMG!!! I even took a space heater into work! Me, the girl who would've worn shorts year-round!!! But, as you know, it's a small price to pay!
That's great that you took the extra steps to get in the extra steps!!! And don't worry, crazy's in the eye of the beholder - maybe that's why I like you!!! LOL!!!
Hugs,
Tia
Russel, Maybe you we be warmer tonight since you wife is coming home. I love the name gowear band. you for thinking how to get in xtra steps. Who cares how you look you are taking care of # 1. Your new stay warm sweater. Do what you can to stay warm. You don't want to get sick. Stay warm and keep up the great job you are doing. You have a nice day to.
Julie
Good Morning All
(((((Tia)))))))))))) I was going to ask if you'd driven yet : the sooner the better trust me.
My dad forced me to drive after my accident in 1984 - the very next day.
And I can understand purple pride you didn't have to go to such drastic measures .
1. The beautiful sunrise this morning on my way to work
2. That I survived 2.5 hours of hard exercise last night - me who 3years ago
balked at pulminary physical therapy.
3. For this board and the support of friends!
I'll drive tonight or tomorrow. There's no choice. Physically, I don't think I could've driven prior to this - it hurts to move my right arm and breathe in too deeply.
Love you, girlfriend!
