My First - "I ate way too much" moment

Leslie - that's the scary part. I don't really feel too bad! Just full.  Do you still get hungry?  I don't think I eat often enough because I still get hunger pains in my tummy.  That was part of the problem tonight. I was starving by the time I actually ate dinner.  That was one of my old bad habits. I really have to make myself stop and eat more often!

and I know you aren't laughing at me. :)

Are you on Nexium or anything? I know that hearburn/acid can give you a feeling of being hungry when you are not.

also make sure you are getting plenty of fluids... lack of fluids can also make you feel hungry.

No, I'm not on any anti-acids. I might try that. It really feels like hunger! I know I didn't have nearly enough water today, so that could be a big part of it as well.

Try to get an Rx for Nexium or something for while if you don't already have one. It's common for sleevers to be on this for the first six months or so.

Lisa,
This is funny, you know how they say that heavy people get constant heartburn and/or acid reflux? At 248lbs I never had heartburn, now that I am almost 87lbs down, I have heartburn on a daily basis! Go Figure! As far as hunger, I was not hungry until 6 months or so, and now I really have to watch everything everyday! It is really a battle, and I have been playing with 3-5lbs for over 2 months now. I really have to start a intense exercise program, or I am not going to lose this weight any time soon! It really looks like you are doing great! Your weight loss has been good, and you seemed to have a good recovery period. You can't ask for much more than that!! Keep it up, you're working the sleeve perfectly!  Leslie:)

Hey we've all done it.  Just try to get back on track, at least you didn't make yourself sick.  I've done that about 3 times in the last year and it isn't fun at all!  Dr. Schweitzer will usually prescribe protonix for the first 6 months if he didn't give you a script call Pat and ask for one.

Good luck, it does get easier, you're still getting the hang of it.

i'm glad you didn't eat so much you got sick. it is hard to do the right thing all the time. you just learned a valuable lesson and will take it with you. it doesn't mean you will ultimately fail at weight loss, which i'm pretty sure is what you're thinking. (((huggles)))

Lisa, we all have slips, trips and falls. I have come to realize that it is part of the monster we are dealing with. At least you were able to realize what had happend. You are doing good and you can get right back on track. I am sure it won't be the first or last fall you have. We will help pick you up no problem. I love the dreaded corn muffins too. Hang in there.
