New Year New Hopes

here is to a Happy New Year and New Hopes.

As of this morning there are only 77 days till open enrolment for new health insurnace and 98 days till my appointment with wl surgeon.....

Of course there is no gaurentee that open enrollment will bring coverage for wls, however if HR is correct and they go with a Maryland based company then all Maryland Statutes will apply ie wls coverage.

In the mean time here is what going on.

Went to PCP last night and had good results for a change.
weight is down to 260, blood pressure was 120/80 and blood sugar was 102.  Dr was very happy and I was pleasantly surprised.

I am still doing rehab for the tkr I had on November 3, 2009, Something I would do again in minute.  I have my mobility back and making use of it. I am starting to be able to climb stairs foot over foot again, first time in more than 5 years.

My personal goal is to loose another 20-30 lbs by April 21 when I see Dr. Kligman,  If that happens then I may not need or even qualify for wls but I am setting up for it any way.

Of course if I can get the weight off with out surgery GREAT, but if not and open enrollment brings the coverage
then I am ready to move forward.

I also got a raise yesterday. not much but something.

Lori, This is all very good news. I do hope you can have your surgery. The weight loss and news of your doc being happy is great. I will keep praying you can have the surgery but you are doing great. Congrats on the raise. Even though it might not be much or what you deserve be glad it is not a pay cut. Good luck and it looks like you are having a nice begining to 2010.

Hi Lori -

I'm glad to hear your knee is healing well and that it's giving you back some mobility.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your health insurance, but in the meantime, keep up the good work!

Hugs,

Tia

OMG Good for you honey. That is awesome. Dr Kligman saved my life so I know how amazing their program is and you are in the best of hands if you did need WLS. But it sounds like your kicking butt on your own. That is very impressive. (((Hugs)))
