Question about labs
Dusty...
Yeah it does suck! LOL
I am being persistant with the doctors because I KNOW this is not normal! I have the cat scan set for Wednesday at a local hospital down here....they wanted to do it tomorrow, but I have a family funeral to attend. So hopefully by late Wednesday I will have the results of that scan. If that shows nothing my PCP has said she will send me to a balance center.....Duh, I already know I am not balanced!!!! LMAO

are they on the low or high end of the range?
if they are on the low end of the range I'd up them.
I"m currently working with VitaLady to figure out what to do with my supplements
my D is very very very low at 23 and my iron is borderline.
I've found from hanging out on the main board and talking to folks that most doctors don't worry till your levels are below normal but by then it's too late.... so I always get a copy of my labs and check them out...

So far my vits are leaning more towards the high side of the spectrum.....or at least thats what my PCP said today. I will get a copy of the labs in the mail hopefully tomorrow. I will double check them tho!
Thanks for the info!

I was just reading on the board about this yesterday while cruising and someone mentioned B1 deficiancy? Not sure but I thought she said they look at Folate and Prealbumin but not sure, may have been on the RNY board. Sorry I couldn't be of any real help but armed with B1 and your symptoms you might find something. Feel better soon and the next time you feel like that sit down immediately! You could've broke your neck!! HUGS.

Heather,
Here is a link to what Wikipedia says about Folate deficiencies and it looks like it is related to B-vitamins. Folic acide produces healthy red blood cells and prevents anemia. There's too much to cut and paste but here's the link.

Prealbumin is tested to detect malnutrition and specifically protein deficiencies. There's more but that's it in a nutshell.
It sounds like you may need to increase your protein intake to above the minimums, perhaps add a shake or two. Obviously, you need to see what Dr. M's office says, but that may be somewhere to start.
Thinking good thoughts,
Heather

i recommend highly posting your symptoms on the rny and and main board. someone else might have experienced this and figured out what the problem is. tumbling down stairs is NOT good.
