Why is every commercial a food commercial. Red Lobster crab month looks oh so delicious!
Yeah, this is pretty normal and we all experience this to some degree.
Keep in mind that you'll be able to eat just about anywhere after a while, but the big difference will be the portion size and the choices you make.
And hopefully, you'll find that some of the foods you liked pre-op just don't fit into your new, healthier lifestyle!!
Hang in there!!

Every now and then, something inside me thinks it WANTS a huge Fuddruckers burger, strickly a WANT, not really a "I gotta have to survive". I then look at my history throughout life of loosing weight then gaining, over and over again. I then realize I really don't want the burger. I usually keep crab cakes, (home made not the commercial crap) in the freezer, I then will have a PORTION of a CC and I am happy. So now, a pound of FRESH lump crab meat will last me over a week, closer to two, and I spend $26 for it, spend 15mins or so making them, and am completely happy. I never used to eat so much crab and fish because of cost, but now have the stuff I really love. Seafood is usually a very good source of protein, even something like shrimp, that is kind of fatty is good for us post op patients. Mt endo now PROMOTES me eating some higher fats because of the malabsorbtion of RNY. JUST DON"T STRETCH YOUR POUCH OUT, AS SOON AS YOU THINK YOUR FULL STOP.

Wow Tom, That is great thinking and the seafood idea of making ahead is wonderful. It makes things much easier when you get stuck in that need food mode. If crab meat is good I don't mind the price. I usually get my crab meat from Costco.Julie
If Costco sells fresh then go for it

Tom, I never knew that Phillips is frozen. I never saw that. I will sure look now. I hear Wegmans sells Fresh. If it is good quality it is well worth the price. I will also look at BJs for fresh. Costco sells Phillips. Thanks for enlightening me.Julie

Ok I got it now. I thought BJs was fresh. I understand sometimes fresh is best. I will really check out getting fresh. I use to pick my own crab meat from the hardshells that were left after a crab feeding frenzy. Right now that is kind of hard since the crab season is not to great. This gives me something to look forward to come the summer. YUMMY. I can taste them now.

I really agree with you. I just had a conversation with my friend and we chatted about how it seems everything in life revolves around food. We are so enticed by a food commercial and food in general no wonder we gained weight. I hope they TV ads don't bother you to much. Maybe we should ask for a channel with no food advertisements. LOL. Good luck !!!

I do feel bad for Jillys husband, He lost a ton of weight without surgery, so he has to maintain a lot more self control than I do. I leave full, he has to make sure he doesn't stuff himself.
