Tell me about your stay at Bayview
I loved my care at JHB. I went in early on Nov 3rd which was a Tues morning. I was out by Thurs afternoon around 1. The only issue I had was also the wait from the recovery area up to my room. I was in recovery from about 10:30 till 2 or 3. My family was all starving and tired waiting for me to go to my room. I dont remember much about being in the recovery room. I remember my boyfriend coming back for a few minutes but I was so out of it. As soon as I told them I was naseuous they were right on it with nausea meds. Once in the room a nurse tried to get me up walking around 5 or 6 pm and I tried and was so dizzy. So around 8 I got up and tried again. They let me have visitors when ever I wanted and didnt mention anything about visiting hours.
You have a recliner chair and tv in your room with a private bathroom. After my first walk with the nurse I kept getting up to walk as much as possible. They actually came and woke me up at one point in the middle of the night to make me walk. You dont get much sleep in there and my bottom was soooo sore from the bed. I do remember my bottom and my back and shoulders being so sore when i got home I couldnt even sleep comfy in my own bed the first night. My first couple days home were the worst but after the first few days it got easier and easier. I was working out a week later just without the lifting and now I am in the gym almost every day doing some type of fun class. I didnt like when they took my drain out. I made her give me some of the liquid pain meds a little bit before having her take it out so it wouldnt be as unfomfortable. It was a weird feeling. lol You will do great. Good luck!
