Protein Shakes....
Hey guys,
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but I was wondering if there were any good protein powders that I can buy either from GNC or drugstore?
Most of the samples I received are from places that are online, and I can order them, I was just wondering if there was some I could buy in the store to sample.
Thanks in advance!

Do you have a Vitamin Shoppe near you? they have tons of powders to try and if you don't like them you can bring it back and get a credit. I prefer Syntha-6. I usually buy Strawberry, banana, choc shake, and caramel latte, I am not crazy about the banana by itself, but mixed with the strawberry is GREAT. I will do a strawberry one batch, ( I mix three servings at a time) maybe a choc next, then maybe a choc - caramel blend, then maybe a strawberry banana, get the picture? I keep from getting burned out on a flavor by mixing them up. sometimes I will do a 50% -50% blend, other times I will use more of one flavor then the other. I mix mine with water, the Syntha 6 is that good. You can use milk,, but I think they are great with water.

You can do the same at GNC- even with a full size product- take it back if you dont like it (double check this though, they may have changed it since I last inquired). They also have samples.
I use the GNC Whey Isolate- it exceeds all the criteria from my surgeon and NUT and I actually like the taste. It comes in a BUNCH of flavors from the standard chocolate & vanilla to cookie dough & fruit punch. And, its about average on price compared to other brands.

Believe it or not, Wal*mart has a pretty decent selection - at least the one by me does, as does Target.
I got a list from my surgeon of "approved" protein powders - thankfully they had the Myoplex on there, which I can tolerate. Remember, stuff you like now you may NOT like or may not be able to tolerate after surgery. I have to be really careful with what I mix with milk, but I can handle the RTD shakes. I don't have to do shakes anymore, but I continue to do one a day just for the protein...I mix it in with my coffee.

Careful with the Special K ones after surgery - they have way too much sugar!
