Gall Bladder Update - The Waiting Game.

Well I had my Upper Endoscopy and my HIDA Scan done last week so now it's just the waiting game.  No more trips to the ER (knock on wood)  but I do hope I don't have to go through that again before it to come out.

Been kind of a free-for-all over the holidays with me.  I didn't torture myself but as bandster it was entirely TOO easy to eat too much sugar and the scale is showing it...about 3-5lbs worth.

I got for a fill in two weeks so hoping jump start getting back to post WLS behavior, up my fluids and protein, and lay off the carbs I mean CANDY!  SF Chocolate Pudding where are you heheh!

Well hope everyone had a nice New Years.  I'll be popping on from time to time see whats going on but it's a little harder for me to get on during work these days.

Have a good week everyone!

Nikki, glad you have had no more ER trips. Hope that gallbladder can come out soon. I am sure that the holidays were hard for many of us. The good part is when we make a mistake we can move on and correct it. I think many did a little bit of cheating over the long holiday. I am sure we are all doing our best to get back on track. I know you will do just fine and start losing again. Good luck and you know Sugar Free pudding is not all bad. Happy New Year to you as well.

Yes Jilly bandsters can eat sugar and fat NO PROBLEM and the worst part is the stuff slides...so cookies and chocolate easy breezy...kinda tough huh when you don't want to use the band.

I dont even want to get started on slider food...mostly junk and often its easier to eat than real food.  I had some chicken breast and peas for dinner and a half a dozen cookies would have gone down way easier that.  Geesh !

That's what helped me make up my mind about band vs RNY. He said no matter how tight he made the band we could still get in a Frosty or milkshake. I knew then I'd be doomed.  Hope you feel better and get that gall bladder out.

did you get the results from the HIDA scan?   it should be a number  0-100   anything below 35 is abnormal.   mine was 7.   yes 7.

I  miss having you around here...

Nikki,
Happy New Year, and I am glad you are staying away from the E.R. I am sure you will jump start after your fill.  It's not all the little slips we have, it's about how and when we stop the slipping! NOW, don't you pick on my S.F. puddings. There are so many now, my refrigerator is filled. Have you tried the JELLO S.F. caramel & chocolate mouse, UNBELIEVABLE, and that will go down easy. Stay well, and continue to stay away from the E.R.!  Leslie:)

you guys are too much!  So I am weeding out the last of my bad goodies from the cabinets so I can get back on track.

Nessa I did not get the results yet but maybe today or tomorrow.  I am wondering though...my luck it will say it works fine and next week I will be in the ER again.... I will keep you posted. I am going to try to hop on here first thing in the am when I get to work.

I just started a new method of transportation to work...the MARC train so I REALLY need to adjust to that.  I am so so tired.  It will probably take me until Feb. til I adjust - seriously.  Going back to work after the holiday****s me like a freight train.

I know the band has challenges but too with RNY I would probably F-up...I am so not a rule follow and I'd forget to take my vits and this and that and I'd probably be sick all the time.  At least for me with the band, while I may not lose as much or as fast, I still get my nutrients without the malabsorbtion.

I am counting down the days to my fill and to talk to them about my behavior, again not trying to beat myself up too much with the holidays.  At least I had my meat and veggies for dinner last night and it was a rather small portion AND I had my sugar free chocolate mousse form JELLO....yes I love that stuff.

Alright everyone, time for me to look busy and wake up. Decaf splenda coffee here I come...just to stay warm that is cause with no caf I am not getting a boost of a thing!

Make is a good day, I'm gonna try to!

Hope everything goes well with your tests. My cousin just had some stones out...and she feels 1,000X better.

As an aside, I'm a big fan of the MARC...I took it for years.  On my very first day, I met this gorgeous man...13 and a half years later and he's my husband.  Also met the best group of friends ever on that train....and so much nicer than driving.  I gave it up for the bus because of timing issues with my schedule, but I do miss the train.
