Not Feeling Quite Right

Ok so right before Christmas, I felt very lightheaded & dizzy......when I went to the ER my sugar had dropped. It went away & I felt better.
For the past week, I have been feeling similiar. It is real bad when I stand......I feel like I am going to topple over! It is a constant thing.....nothing seems to help or make it worse, except for standing up of course!
Any ideas on what this could be? It is starting to scare me!
I live 2 hours from my surgeon, and my on-call PCP is supposed to be calling me back......

Do you have diabetes or hypertension?  If so the medication could be causing this since you have loss weight.  I would definitely place a call to the physician.  When you go from lying position to sitting or standing do it in slow segments.  Make sure your feet are planted flat on the floor with good balance before you start walking.  My last thoughts are whether you are getting enough liquids and proteins. Hope you  feel better .

Thanks for the replies....
Yes, I am taking in enough fluid, actually I drink alot!
No I am not diabetic or have high blood pressure.....both are within normal ranges.
Ans yes, I am getting in all my protein & needed vitamins & so forth.
Thats why I am puzzled.
Again, thank you!

Hojo -

When's the last time you had bloodwork done?  Sounds like you could be anemic.  That's exactly the way I felt when I was anemic.  I finally had to have tranfusions, infusions and take iron supplements - the best that was recommended to me was Vitron C, which is iron with Vitamin C, which helps iron absorb better.

Keep us posted!

Honey I went through that when I was dehydrated and the odd thing was I DIDNT KNOW I WAS because I drank all day long!! However I did not know I was suppose to drink DECAFF coffee or extra water if I did drink caffeine so I was depleting myself for a while there. I felt dizzy often when I stood. I hope your PCP calls you back. Take care of you sweetheart.

Blood pressure, anemia, dehydration, sinus infection, pregnancy, blood sugar, inner ear? Did I miss anything?  Sounds like it's time for a check up and bloodwork. When you have a postion change like lying to sitting or sit to stand go slow and give your body time to catch up. When you go to get out of bed sit on the side for a minute to let the blood get back to your head. Hope you feel better!

Heather, I hope by now you are feeling better. After reading your post, I have the same answers as everyone else. Sounds like your sugar, or your iron, but the reality is it could be anything at all. That is 1 of the most major lessons that I have learned about WLS, take nothing for granted, and take nothing at face value! BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!.....CALL....CALL...CALL.... I will be thinking about you, I am sending good thoughts, and good vibes your way, please post when you have any answers. Maybe it's gas!!  LOL  Feel better, Leslie

If it's worse when you stand, it's probably your blood pressure dropping.

but this one addresses dizziness in WLS patients:
