THE BEST THING FOR NEW YEAR'S DAY

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  I have more than 3 things today, but I think I'll just go with my best.

I'm grateful that I've lived to see another year, another decade.  Without wls, that might not have happened, or, had it happened, I wouldn't have many of the blessings that I have now.  Even though I may never reach goal or lose another pound, I am extremely happy with my decision to have wls.  It brought so many good things to my life, including beautiful friendships, and the ability to do, see and experience things that at 388 pounds, may not have been possible.

I am truly blessed with the best family and friends a girl could hope for, a job that although I don't love, it pays the bills and will, hopefully, allow me to retire in 4 years, a wonderful, spastic puppy who loves me beyond words, and an amazing man with whom, hopefully, my relationship will flourish this year.

Every day that I wake up with a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food in my tummy and people who love me is a day for which I am truly grateful.

For those contemplating surgery, make up your mind in your time - but ensure that you're the best educated patient you can be.  For those of you facing surgery dates, hang on for the ride of your life - it's a decision you will not regret.

To all those who are ill or have ill family members, I pray that 2010 is a year of physical and mental healing; for those without jobs, I pray that 2010 is the year you get that job, and for those of you, like many, in tough financial situations, I pray that this economy turns around so that you can continue to support your family.

As always, say a prayer for the men and women of our armed forces, who, though they may be thousands of miles away fighting to maintain our freedom, are also celebrating a new beginning today.

Hugs and Happy New Year!

((( Tia )))

Well said .. and very true .. so I'll steal Dusty's line and say DITTO as well !!

I would like to add  ...

It is hard to believe that it has been 6 years already since I started my journey and how far I have come in that time.   I've lost .. I've gained .. I've lost again ..  For me 2010 brings my 60th birthday and I'm headed to Las Vegas in two weeks with my best friend to celebrate our 60th's .. I know without a doubt that without WLS I would not be able to say that .. I might still be living . but I wouldn't be 'alive' ..

May 2010 bring you health and happiness !

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

To show you how crazy the last week has been I did not even think about 3 things for New Years day.

but I'll add this now even though noone may ever see it.

1.  2 years ago January 1- I hit 100 Lbs. Loss -  OMG its a day  I will never even forget

2.  For friends who keep me sane; and make me accountable to myself

3.  For my family - even if the last week they have made me nuts at times.

Happy New Year Everyone
