Surgery day coming for Removal/revision to VSG hopefully

Hi to all my OH friends. Well here is my update My port has now broken through the skin I have been on the phone with my surgeon Dr. Brody and he has arranged for me to have surgery on Jan. 4th 2010. He is putting through the revision/ removal of my band with revision to the sleeve gastrectomy. If the insurance company would have let me have the sleeve in the first place they could have saved about $30,000. Because this is what the 2 surgeries will cost them I just don't see the method to the madness. After fighting with them and getting 3 denials for the sleeve and having the band done anyway which most of my friends on here knew I didn't want in the first place and the lapband has now left a real bitter taste in my mouth. I will keep everybody posted even though i really don't feel like going through all this again, but I have to stay true to myself that again someday I would like to be somewhat buff for my age LOL. I am keeping my spirits up knowing that I am in good hands and that I will be ok. I hope everybody had a great christmas and please have a safe and Happy New Years. I just hope the insurance company sees it my way this time. I think I have more medical background than most of those non medical people and I am only an EMT.

Oh you have been through band HELL it sounds like. I am hoping that you will get VSG soon. I am sending good thoughts and prayers your way. I hate insurance companies. I just went to the doctor and heard a doctor telling a patient we need to have an MRI but we need to see if insurance will cover it. This is crazy the woman said I have been paying for insurance for 28 years with the same company. Why would they deny me. Go figure. I wish you luck.
