Cookbook Recommendation

I am a foodie...big time.  I love rich foods with fantastic flavors.  I'm a big fan of Julia Child.  I love cooking with wine.  So, WLS for me meant that I was going to have to do a LOT of playing with my food.  My mom knows this, and she got me a coyp of Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery for Christmas.  It was written by a lady who is a bandster, but she worked with her NUT to come up with meal plans that can be used for all WLS.  Each recipe contains serving sizes for Bandsters, bypassers, and DSers, as well as for people who are trying to lose weight without surgery.  Plus, all the recipes are mash/smashable.  I'm making beef stroganoff tonight and it sounds heavenly, since it was one of my favorite meals prior to surgery.

I really recommend this book if you love to cook, or even if you don't but struggle with ideas.  All recipes are high in protien and contain good carbs.

It's called Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery and it's by Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray.  It's been my favorite Christmas present so far!

and don't forget you can find lots of recipes on eggface's website. I can't remember it off the top of my head, but you can google 'world according to eggface' and find her. A lot of newer folks have not seen that yet.

I have this book! There are tons of recipes I want to try. Although they are mashable, I'm really funny with textures so I'm going to wait until I'm on solids.

I thought I'd be weird with textures too, but my NUT told me that it was the best way to move myself back into solids...I did a lot of stuff that was normally supposed to be mushy, so it wasn't too bad.

I see there are a lot of soup recipes, I can't wait to try some of them!

Bernice, hope you had a nice holiday. This book sounds great and I am going to look into buying it very soon. It sounds like there are some great ideas and recipes in the book. Thanks for the info on the book. Happy new year to honey. Next year you will be a skinny young lady. You are melting away.  Way to go!
