PAIN: Do you know what this is?

My DR's office is closed today, and he is on vacation until January 4th.

I am having pretty bad pain, at first I thought it was at the closest incision near my belly button, however when I poke around in the area under that incision, near my belly button (when looking down at your belly it is just to the right and up a bit) it seems to be the spot.

It feels like someone is inside of me stabbing me with a metal blade or something.  It happens when I stand up, walk, contract my stomach muscles, and sometimes when I take a deep breathe.  The only time I get relief is when I sit down, or lay flat. Not only does this hurt a lot, but it is preventing me from getting on the treadmil and walking as much as I want, which is very frustrating.

It's honestly just like someone is stabbing you with a very sharp metal object.

Does anyone know what this is, and how I can fix it?  I thought at first there was staples or stitches under the steri strips, but I have no idea if there are?  THe area is not warm to the touch or red.

What do you think it is, or what I should do?

Isn't someone at the practice "on call"?  If not, I'd call St. Agnes and see if they could have one of the other bariatric surgeons call you, or if they recommended you going to the ER there.  Better safe than sorry.  Just my two cents...

I am sure your doc has someone on call for him. I thin you would rather be safe than sorry. They can give you peace of mind if anything.  I hope you will take the time and make the call. Keep us posted. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you for the replies, I apprecite them!

I was able to get a hold of Dr. Singh and he said the pain is from my scar tissue healing inside.  It seems to be pretty sharp and extreme...but he's the Dr! :)

On a side note, does anyone happen to have a sublingual of Previcid or Pepcid (or the sort) in a sublingual or chewable that I can swap you for my pills?  I just bought my pills, and they are still in the wrapper of course. I am having a rediclious time getting them down, with most of the times ending up in violently throwing them back up.  I only need about 1 weeks worth until my mail order prescripton comes in the mail, as I do not know where to buy the sublinguals over the counter.

I am glad you spoke with your doctor.  I just wanted to tell you that maybe you are doing a little too much walking on the tread mill and your body is letting you know to rest.

Take care and take your time you will have enough time to exercise. Just walk around little by little and listen to your body when it needs you to rest.

Happy Holidays and I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I think you are exactly right Cira.  The Dr told me sturnly I should not be on the Treadmill this early. I was not running a marathon or anything, but I have learned it is just a bit too early for a treadmill.

I just wanted to make sure I am exercising as much as I can.

The pain is not as bad today, and I am taking it easy more today than I have been.   I am getting my walking in, but not on the Treadmill ;)
