3 THINGS FOR WEDNESDAY

Good morning!!!!  Much to KB's dismay, I am up early because I'm picking them up at 7:45 and we're hitting the mall.  Not because I need much, but because I'm desperate to beat the crowds!!!  B needs a haircut and we have a couple things to do, and then we're having our traditional (35+ years) pre-Christmas lunch.  When my brother and I were children, Mom used to take us Christmas shopping on The Avenue - no, not Hampden, not White Marsh, but to me, the only true Avenue - Eastern Avenue in Highlandtown.  Sadly, it's NOTHING like it once was, now mostly boarded up shops, etc.  However, one thing from our childhood remains and is my #1:

1.  G&A Coney Island Hot Dogs - OMG!!  Quite possibly the BEST chili dogs, french fries with gravy and fountain Coke.  Yeah, I know - truly NOT wls food, but now, I can only eat a half a hot dog and a few fries.  So I guess it's the memories that I cherish, NOT the food!

2.  Mom and I had a nice time shopping and having dinner last night.  No kids, no Dad, no pressure, just the two of us.

3.  New recipes - Bernice gave me her recipe for banana bread.  Easy-peasy and turned out perfectly yummy!!

Okay, everybody, I'll check in later.  Have a great day!

Hugs,

Tia

Oh!  I'm so glad you liked the banana bread recipe.  It's been in the family for years and we love it.  I have been known (back when I could eat them) to throw a handful of chocolate chips in it as well....yum.

Have fun at your lunch today!  I'll be eaiing here at work...sigh.  I can't wait until my vacation next month.

Here are mine:

1.  My baby is coming home today.  Just don't let him know I call him my baby - he's 22 now.  My nephew is flying into BWI today for Christmas.  I hope I get to see him before he goes back to FL next week.  I think he may be coming up to watch the Eagles Broncos game on Saturday.

2.  My family and friends - all of them...thinking of them this time of year.

3.  My grandkids...they make me all warm and fuzzy inside.

4.  One and a half more days of work and I can sleep in for three whole days.  I'm getting  really sick of being the one who has to work every Christmas.

WOOT WOOT!!!  So excited for you, getting to see your nephew again.  What part of FL does he live in? I grew up down there yanno?

I am getting tired too of not being able to take off around Christmas.  *sigh* maybe next year I can talk them into it.

Have a great day chained to that desk. Love ya!

OH!  I'm a lobster junkie!  I had it for my b-day this year and I was in 7th heaven!

You know, I can't even remember my last meal now...sigh...I think it was homemade mac n cheese.

I don't even have a day off for tomorrow - but that's ok - they are very kindly letting us go at noon tomorrow - Yay!

Good Morning Maryland

Today I am grateful :

1.  That my nephew was not one of the 3 policemen involved in the  accident last night.
I pray for those that were:  honestly I pray for all lawenforcement. firemen, and our soldiers
God Bless them all!

2.  That my brother arrived safely from Florida yesterday.  He also spent over an hour
diagnosing some computer problems I have been having and installing a wireless
router so that when/if I decide to get a laptop I can use it anywhere in the house.

3.  For all  my family & friends:  since some of you won't have computer access
till nextweek I want to take the time to wish everyone

MERRY CHRISTMAS

That accident sounded pretty bad, but yes, Thank God you nephew was not one of the officers.

Love you!  Hope to keep in touch over the weekend, I'll be home so I will have access to hear all the good stories of everyone's Christmas day.

Morning everyone, and a Merry Christmas to all!

Keeping it quick here although I don't feel like working today  LOL

1.  Today is my Friday at my full time job.  We're closed tomorrow and Friday, hence a long weekend.....however...I still will be working - this time at JCPenneys.  Either way, I'm definitely off on Friday!

2.  Found THE ham at Safeway - Christmas is not Christmas in my home unless I have a baked ham that would cause WLS patients to go into carb shock or develop diabetes.  Just kidding!  I normally get a butt portion of the ham, score it, put in toothpicks to support the pineapple slices and cherries, and do a brown sugar/cherry juice/butter glaze on the ham.  Also, black eye peas are going in the crockpots with fatback every Christmas and New Years Day.  We don't have ham at any other time of the year, so it's always a joy to make and eat.

3.  Though we've worked a lot of hours this Christmas Season, I can begin to look forward to some breathers after the season, as I've been told that they will cut hours drastically at JCP.  Some associates are worried that they are not going to be working after the holidays - but my sales manager asked me if I was just here for the holidays or did I plan to stay on.  I told her I planned to stay on, so I guess I determined my fate already  GRIN.

4.  Although many people are disappointed about the weather coming up this week and weekend, I'm somewhat glad that the weather will warm up a tick on Saturday.  My friend is not taking no for an answer for our trip to Charles Town Saturday afternoon/evening.

5.  Last but not least, for the many friends here, giggles, snorts, sputters, and gasps that held me in check this year.  It certainly has been a great year, even though there have been some rough times.  The deal is that we didn't have to suffer alone once we told others what was happening.  So to all my friends on OH - thanks for making this year a great one, and I look forward to an awesome year next year, and wish that for everyone!
