3 THINGS FOR MONDAY

Good morning!  I hope everyone was able to dig out and be safe this weekend.  Now, the fallout - going back to work in this mess.  Fortunately, I don't have to, but I feel bad for the people who have to walk and drive in this for a living.  My brother will be taking his life into his hands today on the sidewalks of people who didn't shovel.  And, of course, being the USPS, if he gets hurt, it'll be on him because as they say, "Carrier should have been more careful!"  Give me a break!  So if you haven't shoveled your walk, people, DO IT!!

Today, I'm grateful for:

1.  The beauty of the snow.  It was SO sparkly and fluffy - just gorgeous!!  It can leave now!!

2.  I don't have to go anywhere until Wednesday.  I'm supposed to have dinner with George tonight, but since the snow has derailed his moving plans by having the movers postpone, I don't know what's going on.  So, if I don't have to go out, I'm not.  Living in a rowhome community, people are pretty quick to stake their claims on parking spots once they've dug them out.  We've had ugly confrontations with neighbors in the past, so I'm happy to sit here inside!

3.  I got a ton of baking done yesterday.  And it sounds like a lot of my friends did, too.  I baked 8 batches of cookies - that'll cover us, my brother and George.  Doesn't look like I'm going to have to worry about teacher gifts - I really can't see school being in session the next two days, so for once, I'm ahead of the game!!  A couple more gift cards to buy and some stocking stuffers, and I'm done!

Hope everyone has a great day!  Drive safely and take your time!

Good Morning Maryland

Today I am grateful for

1.  The people who clear all of the beautiful sparkly stuff so I could make it into work
without incident.  This includes the two guys who worked 15 hours each yesterday
to be sure trucks can back in and out of our doors. Also the people who
clear out shopping centers and parking lots.

2.  That I warned my brother and sisterinlaw from Florida to stop and buy boots on their
way up LOL  Texted my brother Saturday and told him we were expecting up to 20 inches

3.  That the warehousemen braved the drive as well :  I got here at 5:30 am along
with my two fellow office workers  :  we were holding our breathe to see if the guys would show up.

4.  I got my Christmas cleaning done since  I was stuck at home

5.  For my friends who kept me laughing with emails over the weekend.

Glad you made it safely!!!!

But....the big question......DID YOU MAKE COOKIES?  Seriously.  I HAVE to know!  LOL!!!

Since we don't do Christmas at our house, I don't have to do anything beyond the normal cleaning, thank goodness!!!

Hope all your drivers make it where they need to be safely!

Hugs,

I may pickup some of the Pillsbury roll cookies since I'm sure I will be at the
Grocery store later.

Good morning!  Glad you got some baking done.  I did too!  My first big WLS test - not a scrap was tasted.  But man do those sweet potato cookies look good.

Call George and hold him to a reschedule - it will be slick tonight.  Unless, of course, he is chivalrous and comes to pick you up!

Here are mine:

1.  Even though I have to work for the rest of the year, I'm working from home today.  I always work from home on Mondays so, I was safe there, but hopefully, if the auto loan check comes, I'll have my check today and we can go get my Santa Fe tonight and put poor old Myrtle out to pasture.

2.  My husband who so adeptly dug us out yesterday - yay for snow blowers.  I am banned from shoveling anything since my heart attack - and my bad knee makes slick walking scary, so I stayed safely inside by the fire.

3.  Looks like we'll get to see at least one of my step-daughters this weekend and my youngest grandbaby...yay!

4.  My wonderful friends, who kept me from screaming in boredom this weekend!

B, that you were able to resist the goodies you make is a huge NSV!!!  There MAY come a time when you may be able to tolerate some of them, but like I've repeatedly said, you're better off keeping that door closed for as long as possible.

I'd love to call George....except he lost his cell phone in the snow.  Sigh.  LOL!!  I know the poor guy is just DYING without his phone, since it's his link to everything!  Fortunately, he emailed me last night, so I know not to panic if I don't hear from him per usual!

Yay for Bob and his blowing ability....wait....you know what I mean!!!  LOL!!!  I do hope you're able to get the Sante Fe tonight!!  Can't wait to see it!

Hugs,

T

I'm too terrified of getting sick...LOL.  I was sick last night - nauseous all day.  We think I may have had a bug.  But I'm better today.  I tell ya though, I've got such a fear of dumping that the tempation to try the cookies just isn't there.  If I dump off of Splenda, I'd hate to see what happens on the REAL thing.

He lost his phone in the snow?  OMG.  A few years ago, Bob had both sets of keys in his pocket when he was running he snow blower.  When he came back inside, no keys.  We looked all over the drive way, no keys.  That night, he found his keys in the snow about half way across the yard - turns out they fell out of his pocket and he ran over them with the snow blower.  My keys were nowhere to be found, and I don't have a spare to the car.  I had to wait three days until they melted. Thank goodness they still worked.  He's no longer allowed to hold the keys when he's using the snow blower.  It isn't pretty.

And I think he'd argue I have a better blowing ability...LOL

Morning Tia!
I will keep your brother in my prayers.....I feel so bad for the carriers who HAVE to brave this mess! I made Joe shovel out around our mailbox! Glad to hear you got your baking done.....we did ours last weekend. I also hope everyone here who has to go out has a safe trip!

Today I am grateful for:

1} I know so many people had ruined plans because of the snow, but I LOVE snow and it was absolutely beautiful coming down. My 12 year old rottie LOVES it more than I do & I enjoyed watching her play in it.

2} I am also very very grateful for my WLS which has allowed me to play in the snow! I was soooo amazed at my energy level outside this weekend! What a difference a 100 pounds makes! Woo Hoo!

3} That my husband didnt end up going into work this weekend! Not only did I get to spend time with him, but I also had him to do the digging out!

Hi HOJO!

I'm sorry, I don't know how I missed this yesterday!  I agree the snow was SOOOOOO gorgeous.  My sweet Molly the Beagle used to snowplow her way through the snow, but Happy's too "delicate," she hates it!!!

I hope you and yours have a wonderful, blessed Christmas! I'm very grateful for your presence on the board and your friendship!

MUAH!
