Is this normal?
Hey all:
Still doing great. Slept for the first time last night in my own bed - man did that feel good and it wasn't too hard getting in and out. Went to my PCP this morning and weighed and I've lost 8 pounds since Tuesday. With the 16 I lost in the weeks pre op I am now 24 pounds lighter than my initial consult.
Ok all is well. I have one question though. My body seems to be ridding itself of gas more by mouth than the other end. So I am burping a fair amount. After each burp, I get a little pain in my chest, the place where they told me I'd feel pain if I ate/drank too much too fast. Is this normal? No great distriss, just wondering about it.
Hope you all have dug out.

Sounds pretty normal to me...gas has to go one way or the other, and you will have a lot after surgery. Don't forget, things were just cut into, moved around, etc inside, and the pressure of getting rid of the gas can feel a bit uncomfortable. I got a pain like that when I drank something cold as well - still do and I'm six weeks out.
Just wait until you sneeze the first time...wooo boy that hurt.
