It is a lovely day in the neighborhood....
Yea, hubby had to go to USPS to work by 3:00. Left at 1:00 and just got there about 3:15. They shoveled this am for about 4 hours. Now there is much more to shovel. Official measurement is 17 inches here. I started baking Chocolate chip cookies and am really trying hard not to eat them. As they are my all time favorite cookie. I am doing good I hope I can keep it up. Just ate trail mix instead. Planning on meatloaf for dinner with veggies and maybe a salad. You are lucky not to care about the baking. All I can say is what a man !

Julie,
I did something really stupid during the storm and think it is an interesting story. So here i am on Saturday afternoon. the snow had kinda tapered off and i had watched all my movies so I decided, what the heck, let me go down and get more movies at the redbox. well my trip to the store was a success but while driving back, a bunch of cars had stopped in the middle of route 40 right where I was supposed to turn so I turned my car into the side of the road. unfortunately, there was so much snow there, I got stuck and couldn't get out. Luckily a lady stopped and drove me back to my house, which was only a mile away. BUT MY CAR WAS STUCK. I was so worried and the next morning, after the snow was over, I actually walked down there to see if it was still there. IT WAS. and it didn't look too bad. Some digging was required but not impossible. So around 12pm my ex came over to help me dig the car out and when we went to the same spot, MY CAR WAS GONE. I was freaking out and we went back to my house and I started calling around. No one had a record of my car and kept giving me another number to call. After the second call, I was in tears, thinking the worst. Finally the fifth call was the one that worked. Not only did they tow my car out, the parked it in the supermarket parking lot across the street. I could just go pick it up and it cost me nothing. So not only did I not have to dig myself out, but I didn't have to pay for the service.
This is a really long story but I learned my lesson. Stay inside!!!

Oh Nicole, I am sorry to hear that but am glad to hear your car is safe and you are safe too. We went to the store and got a few things yesterday and then went to Ledo's for pizza. We had been baking cookies and I was so happy I did not take one. I then went outside and shoveled for about 30 minutes. Then I went to come back in and what did I do but fall on my big butt. I now have been to Nighttime care center for xray's and a splint. Today I will go to see orthopedic doc. They said ankle looks like there is a small break. Oh DAMN ! I kept thinking be careful so you don't fall. I had worn a new pair of boots and I am blaming the fall on the boot. I hate shoes and wish I had on my flip flops. LOL.
My son helped pull people out yesterday and they all shoveled till they could not shovel no more. I do not like snow! I have finally decided that for sure......
