Surgery date 1/11/10, super excited. What will i need now? I like the Special K protein shakes, does anyone object? Where can I get free samples?

YAY, congrats!! I like Unjury protein powder the best. I haven't found many ready to drink shakes that I like (within my price range). There are a few I really want to try, like "Oh Yeah" and  I didn't find too many free samples, but a lot of sites will send them to you really cheap.

Congrats on your surgery Date! What a great way to start out the New Year!  The special K protein drinks have 18 grams of sugar so I would stay away from them. My NUT always said under 10 grams, althought now i can handle more being 3 1/2 years out. You will find helpful tips on here on how to make your own shakes that you can tweek to your tasting!

You may want to try Unjury or Whey for a while at first or something with a lot MORE protein per serving honey. You will need soooooooooooooooo much protein. (((Hugs)))

Congrats on your surgery date.  I got a ton of samples through vitalady.com.  They are not free but reasonably priced and help to weed out the protein powders that you don't care for.

The Special K shakes are full of sugar - too much for someone fresh out of surgery.

I use the Myoplex Light Shakes.  Your doctor and NUT may have recommendations too at your pre-op appointment.  I'd recommend stocking up on your vits too...calcium, iron, b12, multi.  Oh, and plenty of clear fluids for your first weeks out.  Sugar-free popsicles will be your bestest friend in the whole wide world.
