Winter Storm Warning

Statement as of 4:05 AM EST on December 18, 2009

Expires 6:00 AM EST on December 20, 2009

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight to 6 am
EST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a
Winter Storm Warning for snow... which is in effect from midnight
tonight to 6 am EST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.


* Precip type... snow.

* Accumulations... heavy snow with accumulations of 5 to 10 inches
through sunset Saturday. Locally higher amounts possible...
mainly in or near southern Maryland. Additional accumulations
expected Saturday night.

* Timing... snow will begin late Friday night and will continue
through Sunday morning.

* Temperatures... upper 20s to lower 30s through the event in the
Baltimore Washington metropolitan area... mid to upper 20s across
western Maryland.

* Winds... 10 to 20 mph through the event... with gusts of 25 to
30 mph Saturday and Sunday.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Bring on the "Great white death from above" it doesn't scare me,, I embrace it.

I DARE mama nature to dump 2,, no 3 FEET on me.

Hey Maryland,
It's been an incredibly long time since I've popped my face in on your board.  I've kind of been in my own little world up here in Pennsylvania for the last year or so.  I hope everybody's been well and continuing on in their successful transformations.  And you better be exercising!!!

Anyway, funny this post was on here this morning.  I'm actually planning on being in Baltimore over the weekend for my birthday.  Me and a friend are heading to the Meyerhoff Hall to watch her brother perform in a huge christmas show, along with the Baltimore Symphony and some singing groups.  We're staying at the Hyatt Regency at the Inner Harbor.  Of course, all of this is up in the air now thanks to mother nature deciding to snow on my parade, so to speak.  Anybody have any updates on the forecast?  I know it's supposed to be okay to drive back on Sunday, but are we pushing it by driving from PA to Baltimore at 9 am tomorrow?

You look AWESOME!!! So proud of you! :o) Nothing wrong with being in your own world honey ;o) And I hope you got here safe this weather is NO JOKE!!!!!!!! We have almost 17 inches on the deck after cleaning it off once early this morning. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!! Take care of you honey.

Last I heard, it's supposed to start at 6am. Not that they ever really know for sure.   It does FEEL like snow out there though!  Traffic is absolutely horrible over my way.  I guess all the nuts left work early to go get their bread, TP, and milk.  All I needed to do was go to the drugstore for some cold medicine and it took me 25 minutes on what would normally be a 5 minute drive.

Bring it on.  I'am going to try to get to Liberty ski for 2 days of downhill , wine, shrimp, and chili .  I weigh 100lbs less this year.  May make the hard blue turn without becoming a giant snowball
