I figured I'd ask you guys and gals this question before calling the doctor's office.  What kind of cold medicine are we allowed to take?  I mainly have a sore throat and cough. Any ideas?

Have you been told to avoid NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)?  If so, Tylenol makes a good cold/cough remedy - might want to give that a try.

Hope you feel better,

Tia

well you'd better call the doc since  our doc says we can take Nyquil but Angie's doc says no she can take something else that OUR doc says we can't take.

every doc is different... ugh. I Know.

Thanks Tia and Nessa.. I guess I will call to be on the safe side since it's so soon. At least it held off until my stomach healed.. can't imagine if I had this cough right after surgery.

I'm 2 years out and I avoid Ibuprofen but that's it. I take Nyquil if I am feeling sick and need to sleep. I use Dayquil for daytime relief.
