So what do you think?
Last Thursday Marty got a fill, a small one about 1 mL. The one previous to that was back in around July or so and was 3.5 mL. He has the larger band. Anyway, he says he can't even tell he's had a fill. No difference whatsoever. In fact, he says he feels more hungry now than before the fill. So, do you think he should go back and ask for more or do you think its all head hunger? He said maybe its in his head but he can definitely eat a lot if he wants to. He's trying really hard to control it though. Thoughts? Opinions?
Tell Marty to give it time. Sometimes you don't feel the restriction right away when you receive a fill. It could be delayed by as much as two weeks for some people. Did he follow the rules of liquids the first few days and mushies the next two days? This could be the reason for the head hunger. If he decides to get another fill, he may want to wait another two weeks.

(((HUGS)))) - Mellie - I went through that before - feeling hungrier after a fill - it was head hunger to me because I just KNEW I couldn't eat for another 2 days, and being on liquids - you don't get to feel full on liquids.
And I went through 3 fills without even feeling a difference, and I now have 4.5 ccs in my band; and have noticed the difference since that last adjustment/readjustment. I was getting sick frequently with heartburn so Dr. Singh took out the .5 ccs - bringing it down to 4.5 that I have now. Another tell tale sign other than the heartburn and getting sick was that I'd lost 10 pounds in a month.
Anyway - it also depends on what he's eating when he's eating solids, and if there's any drinking during the meals. And the density of the food he's eating. It takes me longer to work a hamburger patty than it does lunch meat.
And I think Dr. Singh's rule of thumb is 7 days - so if it gets to 7 days (this Thursday, right?); I'd place a call for another fill.
