3 THINGS FOR MONDAY
Copied it exactly as written :)
Tia sorry you we woke up but at least it was 2 great people who did the deed. So glad George is home and you all will be shopping. Sounds like fun.I am praying for you and your family. I hope all will be OK with your Dad.
I am trying to get the spirit but it has been tough. Mom still not doing so good. I am thankful for each day she is here.
I did have a great weekend in Westminster with 2 friends from our campground. So nice to reconnect and know that we are always there for each other.
My 3 things.
1) Friday late dinner with Lucy and some great gifts from her.
2) I pulled off a Secret Santa gift trick and Lucy loved it. LOL
3) On Wednesday I am turning the big 50. Yuck! I know I should be glad but man getting old is Hell.
I hope you all have a great day. Thanks for the great cards. I loved each of them.
Julie
A lot of people are having a tough time getting into the spirit - unfortunately, the economy's still in the tank, which just adds to people's depression. I think, like you said, the thing to do is to focus on the people who are still here with us - friends, family, etc.
50 is just a number, honey! I know you've had a tough year, but you HAVE made strides in self-improvement, so try to remember that.
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Tia
I'm so glad that George is finally home...I know if felt like forever to you!!! Ahhhh...new love!! Enjoy your time with him! AND...best wishes for a good appt tomorrow with Dad, I'll be thinking good things!
Today, I'm grateful...
1. For a productive weekend as well...more cranberry bread was baked, fudge made, scotch shortbread made, as well as coconut macaroons - with more to come this week. We also broke down and bought an artificial tree...even though I love the smell of fresh pine, I can get that from my Yankee candle and not have to worry about the mess, expense, and hassle (with Mike's thumb) of a real tree! Now we just have to put it up and I pray that it looks as good as it's photo!!
2. For my RNY!!! I was sure that I must have put on a pound or two from all of my sampling and was very hesitant to step on the scale...for naught! I haven't gained a single pound! WOOT!
3. That my hair is growing back!!!! Although I look ridiculous with my hair up because of tufts sticking out, especially around my face, I'm soooooooo happy to see it coming back! I was worried!!!!
4. For all my friends...love you all!!
Have a great rest of the day!
Heather
I just finished two batches of cranberry orange white chip sugar cookies - made from a box of quick bread mix!!! Couldn't be simpler! Mom has a cookie exchange to go to on Saturday, so that's what she's taking. Of course, there's still lots more to be done, but it'll get there. Plus, my two fave helpers will be with me on Saturday to help me!
We've always had artificial trees - I prefer them because I like to put them up early and leave them up so I can enjoy them. And you're right - you can get the same smell out of a can or jar!!!
I thought your hair looked great the last time I saw you - but then I AM biased!!! LOL!!!

Well, thanks! I've straightened it a couple of times and it's looking better but put it up and I look just ridiculous!! I should take a photo next time!
We need to get together soon!!!!
I prefer to bake alone, too, but KB LOVE to help, so.....
1 box of Pillsbury Cranberry Quick Bread Mix
12 tablespoons of butter, softened
Mix together with hand mixer. I added 1-1/2 teaspoons of orange extract and a half a bag of white chocolate chips.
Roll into a ball, flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake for 9-11 minutes at 350 degrees or until golden brown. Let rest on the baking sheet for 2 minutes and then remove to cool.
EASY-PEASY!
