Just wondering, 45+age group
As I get closer I think I am getting ticker anxiety. I used to be happy when I saw it was getting close and now it makes my heart beat faster!! Any of you age 45+ that can tell me how things are going for you? Any special issues you've run into, any skin issues (not bouncing back?) I think that is one of my biggest worries is looking like a Shar-pei or looking old. One of my co-workers looked great until a few weeks ago and now she looks old her surgery is 1 year out and figure wise she looks amazing! Do you use any special creams or lotions? My skin has gotten so dry.
Come on folks talk me off the ledge!

I am and have been for years an avid user of CLINIQUE products esp their moisturizers.
as for dry skin,,, I use lotions, make sure to drink enough water.... (hydrate from the inside out) and some good fats are essential as well (I vote for avocado)....
I will be 44 this coming February. I was 41 when I had my RNY. I must say that carrying all the extra weight definitely stretched out my skin for good. Thhere hasn't been any special lotion or exercise that has helped my skin bounce ack. Now not everyone is the same.
There are people who has wonderful elasticity and do not get stretch marks and their skin bounces back nicely.
I know that this was a major concern for me before I had surgery, But to me is not anything compared than to getting my life back! No more diabetes or sleep apnea. I can play with my children and grandchildren, I can walk now and I don't have to circle the parking lot of the mall to park near the entrance. I feel great and so happy that I had this surgery. Life is so good now!
I know that sometime in the future I will have plastic surgery to remove my extra skin but I am not obsessing over it.
As for the dry skin I went through that too. Now the fat intake has been cut drastically so your skin will get flaky. I buy Curel for very dry skin and it helps a lot.
Wishing you all the best,
Cira
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

But, you know what? I don't care!!!!!!!!! I'm losing weight and feeling SO much better, it doesn't matter. Plastics may be in my future, but for now, the thrill of losing and being in control of my eating is a higher high than all the plastics in the world!! :)
Now if I could only finish Christmas shopping!
Love you all!
