Going on Thursday a.m. for Rny, Averbach.  Finally!  Not worried about going in, but worried about coming out, headaches, woozy feelings, etc.  Any suggestions?

Having just gone through RNY, I can tell you there is no way to prepare yourself for the feelings you feel after surgery.   They will provide you with pain meds in the hospital and your willingness to get out of bed and walk will help your recovery progress.  It is major surgery and you will be sore there is not way around it.  The hardest thing to keep saying to yourself is, THIS WILL PASS!

Believe me at three weeks and three days post-op, I feel 100% better today!  I had a  harder time than most people, but I can tell you with real experience - it does improve.  Listen to your body, walk, and rest whenever you can.  These things will all help, but time will be your best friend in the long run.  By New Years you will feel like a new person!  Best of Luck!  Pam

Thursday morning you will meet your anesthesiologist before your surgery.  Mention your previous history of surgery and they will do everything to make sure you are medicated before waking up.

Best of luck and please call me if you have questions.
