Pardon Me While I SQEEE!!!!!!
So, I just had my surgical follow up with my primary care physician. I'm down to 286 - that's a total of 18 pounds in two weeks (holy schmoly) and 35 pounds from my highest weight. Even better, I'm officially OFF all my diabetic meds, off all my blood pressure meds, and am down to one cholesterol med and my heart med. That's down from a bajillion prescriptions to two...TWO!
My doctor is thrilled with my progress, and I'm sooo excited to be starting this whole new chapter in my life. I feel as if I've been reborn and I just can't believe what this surgery has done for me after a mere two weeks. I've gotten my life back.
I can not wait to see what things are going to be like for me over the next few months. I have so many things I want to do, so many places I want to go...I'm so excited. I've seen people who have had "buyer's remorse" after surgery...all I can think of is the fact that it has seriously saved my life.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

way to go bernice! it's a great feeling! don't worry about the buyer's remorse. you'll go through that too. it's all just normal stuff we go through. mine hit after about three months when my weight loss slowed down a bit and i had issues with control. meaning... having to deal with not having the control that i wanted. for instance, i cannot tolerate sugar. i also could not eat very much at that time. i hated not being able to make the decision that i was going to eat something sweet or that i was going to eat a little more than usual. it sounds silly because that's exactly why we get this surgery.. but yet i still went through this regret that i couldn't make decisions for myself. anyway.. not sure that really explains it well, but if you ever go through that phase, you will know exactly what i'm saying. enjoy this time.. really. the rewards come fast and furious!
Sounds great! So happy for you. Sure is going to save you some money!! Now you can save what you would spend in prescriptions and buy new clothes!!!! Hope you (and everyone else) had a great Thanksgiving! I'll be shopping at the butt crack of dawn at White Marsh Mall tomorrow hope everyone has a fab weekend.
