3 THINGS FOR MONDAY!
Today, I'm grateful for:
1. Time with my girl - My brother let K take off of school on Friday after our Twilight/New Moon marathon, so once we all surfaced after noon, Mom and I took her shopping. I wanted to see what she wanted for Christmas and spend some time with her. We had a really good time!! She's growing up so fast - I bought her eyeliner and mascara, and am going to teach her how to use them today. It seems like just yesterday I was taking the hat off of her head in the delivery room to see if she had hair!!! LOL!!!
2. Deals - Great deals!!!!! K wanted black boots for Christmas, and Payless was running BOGO, so I got her a pair of boots and B a pair of sneakers for less than one pair of shoes! I also bought myself a really cute hip length black wool coat for next to nothing!!
3. I'm off today!!!! I'll be spending it with B, who's off from school. He doesn't know it, but I'm picking up his two besties and bringing them to his house for an all day XBOX fest! Hehehe!! Poor B! He thinks he's going to Target, Walmart, the Dollar Store and the grocery store with me!! He is going to be SOOOO excited, I can't wait to see his face!!!
4. Boxer Heather had what sounds like a glorious, work-related trip to Italy and arrived back home safe and sound!! It just wasn't the same without you, girlie!
5. Pam is doing much better!!! Woman, you had me worried on Thursday!!!! Hope every day brings you improvement!
Okay, let me get my day started!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Tia
Good Morning everyone:
Well after a great birthday week today its back to the real world ! LOL
Thanks again all for the birthday wishes.
1. A WOW moment for me yesterday: Took the light rail down to the stadium and
had a great time at the game : 3 years ago I could hardly make it to the seats.
As we were walking from the light rail to the stadium there was a woman in
front of us- very overweight and struggling to walk; Kathy looked at me and said
in a few years without WLS I would have been that woman - I looked at her and said
2.5 years ago that was me" - not like we were looking down her or anything - I felt sorry for her. It was just a reminder of what I had been like.
2. Mr friends here at work: I have a cold or the flu ( still too early too tell which) and I feel like I have been hit by a truck. Both of the ladies took one look at me and said
go home! ( they don't want whatever I have) I think I will be leaving here shortly.
3. That I got to spend some time with 2 nieces and 2 nephews yesterday! While
it was obvious drinking was involved they all were mindful of having " Designated
Drivers" which greatly relieved my mind.
4. That Debbie was able to go visit her family this week and surprised her Aunt.
Well I'm gonna end this and finish up what work is on my desk so I can go home and
get some rest,
Have a good day everyone
Tia - I am glad you had such a great weekend and the great day you are about to have! I am glad to hear that Pam is better too.
Darla - I am so sorry to hear that you are sick. Please take care of yourself and heal quickly so you can enjoy Thanksgiving. I thought of you and Kathy at the game yesterday. Both my cousin and I can't bear to watch - too stressful and we were both worried about our respective teams! I proudly wore my Ravens -wear while we went shopping and had lunch. Of course we checked on the scores as we went along. I am glad the Ravens gave a good showing of themselves. Although it would have been a great feather in their cap to have one that one, given the Colts record.
I am enjoying a relaxing time in Indiana. The surprise for my Aunt went off perfectly. My cousins had me at another cousin's house and brought her there. She thought she was there for a entirely different reason and I would certainly be the last person she would expect to see there. When she walked in, she was initially distracted by the dogs. Then she looked up and saw me sitting there. She dropped everything she was carrying, her eyes and mouth were wide open and she could not say a word. When I got up to hug her, she would not let me go. It was the best feeling. It is already a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Today I am grateful for...
1 - Family - The unconditional warmth and caring of just being together.
2 - Being surprised once again that flying is an option for me these days. I had already flown since WLS (one of my earlier wow moments). Somehow my brain still worried that I would have trouble on the plane. Seems like the brain is always the last one to lose weight! It was actually a comfortable flight and we arrived a little early.
3 - Getting time to spend with you all during the day this week. I have missed you all!
Debbie
I am going to go home early and probably skip an appointment with Ranessa and
Pilates class tonight : I screwed up my shoulder big time and today I can hardly stand
the pain : Tylenol Isn't touching the pain. I could never do the breathing in thru the nose at Pilates : I''ve been fighting a cold for weeks and I think it has finally won the battle.
I'm so glad you decided to let it be a surprise for your Aunt: I bet the expression on herface is one you will not forget. I'm also glad you have internet so you can spend some time and play with us this week. Enjoy yourself- you deserve it.
Back to work so I can get out of here!
I'm glad you had a good time at the game and I totally get what you're saying that seeing other people struggle makes you doubly grateful that you had wls!!
Hope you feel better!!!!
Hugs,
T
