Hi all

Does any one know how long the test results are good for that are needed before surgery?  Such as the psych work up, sleep study and such?  it looks like my company is going to get a contract with uhc where I can get the surgery i need.  But it wont be effective until about april 1 2010.

I believe most tests are good for 6 months:  but others have to be done within a month of surgury:  best bet is check with your Dr.

Mine would have been good for a year but I have Federal BCBS. Most people get a 6 month grace period.................Good luck honey. (((Hugs)))

Hi Lori,

I was told the phych and nutritional evals were about 6 months; however, because of the way mine went down (insurance issues delayed me...) the doctor did not ask me to re-take either although both were about 7 months old when we submitted for approval.

I would think lab work and testing would need to be done within a month or two of surgery, but each surgeon's idea's on this varies so you would need to contact your surgeon to be certain.

my doc said test results were 6 months, but that any labs for surgery were only good for 1 month
