Checking In

Greetings Everyone!

I have truly missed being able to post here during the day. I do try to read what is going on as much as I can. I have been going through some stuff that has limited my physical activity (hip joint and nerve pain). The good news is that the inflammation is finally calming down. However, I have to add my physical activity back very slowly. I am going to PT and they are helping me through this. They promise I will get everything back. It has been hard to give up the exercise which I rely on so heavily to maintain the new me. I was having some challenges with eating before thi**** That became even more difficult when I became less active. The silver lining in this is that it has forced me to readdress some of my eating triggers which were still there. I finally feel like I am having some success with this and am feeling better on that front than I have in a long time. I no longer jump on the scale every day. I found that I would play games with myself using the scale to wheel and deal when I would choose to allow myself to go astray. I am refocused on planning a good eating day every day. Do I still get tempted - sure. Do I still allow myself some treats from time to time - sure. The difference is that I am more controlled about it again. My clothes are starting to feel better and I am letting that be my positive reinforcement.

I hope to check in with you all during the day next week. I am taking the week off and traveling to Indiana to visit my Aunt (like a second Mom) and my cousins (like sisters) and other family for Thanksgiving. I am really looking forward to this trip. It always recharges my emotional batteries! Everyone knows I am coming except my Aunt who will be quite surprised.

Best wishes to all here. For those who are enjoying successes , I am so happy for you. For those who are facing various life challenges, I pray for you and that things will get better.

Hugs!

Debbie

I'm so glad to hear that the pain is somewhat subsiding.  We've talked about how debilitating the pain is - I feel your pain!!!

I'll talk to you before then, but I'm so excited about your trip to Indiana.  I know how much you're looking forward to it.

Hugs,

Awwww Deb you have done so well and should be so so proud of yourself. It is hard for to exercise the same since the weather has gotten colder but I know that is no excuse. PT may be a very good thing for you. (((Hugs)))

Hello Debbie so glad to see your post. I am so sorry for all your pain. I am way to familiar with the pain since I have Fibromyalgia and am fighting pain all the time. I can feel your pain believe me. I hope your trip helps you and you come back feeling better. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and a safe trip. Take care and keep the faith. I am sure you can get back to your exercise plan soon. Eating triggers and the scale are two monsters that are hard to deal with. I wish you success on slaying them.

Deb - I hope PT works for you in working through the pain.  I know it worked wonders the first time I blew out my knee.  Just take it slow and steady.

Enjoy your trip!  I know how excited you are about surprising your Aunt, so have a wonderful time with your family!
