Update on Me Including Plastics on December 11th

Hi Everyone!

I know I haven't been on the forum too much lately, and I apologize. So busy, and I thank God we have work!  I have been finding pieces of time here and there to keep up with reading how everyone is doing. Nessa, Brandi, Nikki, Bernice, Andy, Pam:  You're all doing so Great with your new tools!

To bring everyone up to date:

I'm having a circumferential body lift and breast mastopexy with Dr. Larry Lickstein on December 11th.  Dr. Moein highly recommended him both for his "skill and bedside manner."  We went to a seminar and met him and his partner, Dr. Michael Cohen.  Dr. Lickstein has a very impressive C.V., wonderful before/afters and recommendations from patients, and what an awesome and genuine personality.  Kevin and I were floored that the man spent an entire hour with us, never once looking at his watch, and when I couldn't think of any more questions, he asked again before leaving the room,  then told me to call him if I thought of anything else.  He expects to remove about 7 pounds of skin and tissue which is going to leave me with about 13 pounds to lose to reach goal.  He and Dr. Moein both told me that losing that amount will not adversely affect my final results.  (Truthfully, I think Dr. Mo feels I may not get to my self-imposed goal without a lot more hard exercise, and I'm fine with that.  He warned me that at the end of my journey, the band will have done most of it's work and more of it will be on me. I have a lot more left in me to amp up my exercises and see what I can do.  I might also be ready for a tweak in my fill after all the healing is done.)

Our wonderful Grandson, Liam is healthy, now two months old, and that much deeper into our hearts.  Thanks to everyone who sent well-wishes our way.

Hugs,

Terri

Thanks All.  I'll let you know how it goes, and especially, if I still think Dr. Lickstein is a God after he's beaten me up.

Terri, can you explain what is a circumferential?  is it the same as a lower body lift?  and what's a mastopexy?  I'm blonde.  Sorry!

Anyone for whom this answer is TMI....sorry. Circumferential is All the Way Around! I guess it's the same as a total body lift, but I've also heard that some docs consider a total body lift to include the inside of the thighs, like Dr. Dennis Hurwitz does up at U. of Pittsburgh.  I could be wrong, but I think he may have invented it. Anyway, from all the gaining and losing and two pregnancies, I have so much loose skin/extra tissue on my abdomen, hips and lower back, coupled with sagging in my thighs and buttocks that a tummy tuck would not give me the best results. Mastopexy is a breast lift only, no implants.  He will do an incision around the areola and vertically on the underside down to the fold.  He will tighten the underlying tissue, then tighten and remove the extra skin against it.  So the girls should be able to see where they are going instead of where they've been.
