What is your favorite mushy?

Well I am back on mushies today after two days of liquids from my band episode.  I've been coughing like crazy from being sick so my chest is still sore and I was bringing up mucus   so I am taking it slow today.

Just was wanted to take a poll to see what everyon's favorite mushies were - make sure I am not missing something.   I just had some hummus on a spoon of course.  Trying to figure out lunch today.
As many of you know between my fills and a few episodes of   I am on a modified diet many many times to make sure I am not swollen and my band stays in place.

I did get on MY scale the morning at it said 275lbs which would put me at  ALMOST a 50lbs (49 grrr)  loss in just shy of 12 weeks (including my 2 weeks pre-op).  I LOVE MY SCALE!  To heck with the Dr's scale.  Mine gives me a boost

Despite my crazy life and always some $#!T overall I am feeling pretty good.  I can take the stairs, I can walk up a small hill, I am sleeping better WITHOUT the CPAP. I'm not AS resentful about food all the time - just sometimes hehe! I look like a hobo in my clothes because all my pants are big and now my tops are even getting loose.  I need to go shopping again in the other closet to see what I have.

But one thing at a time and today I'm focused on MUSHIES

Hmmmm...........my fave was probably pureed shrimp salad or pureed chicken salad.

I also liked the ricotta made savory or sweet, the whole Greek yogurt thing and refried beans.

In short, if it's high in protein and you can puree it, you can eat it!

Congrats on all of your accomplishments thus far!

Hugs,

Tia

hmm I never thought of shrimp salad.  I think I am might try that.  I don't do well with chicken salad .

The beans, chili or greek yogurt have been my stand by but I'm wearing them out big time.

Thanks!  I hope the holidays don't put me in  rut!

My favorite is the black eye peas - I soak them the night before, put them in the crockpot in the morning with some fatback (I know - it's a no no but it's seasoning!)  and by the afternoon, it's done, soft and quite mushy.....I know what I'm having this Sunday!  Thanks Nikki for helping me figure out what to do for Sunday's dinner.

Hi Nikki,

I hope you get to feeling great soon.

My favorite mushy was steamed shrimp. I would put it in the magic bullet and it would have a little of old bay seasoning. Yum  Also I would make split pea soup in the crock pot with some beef in it.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

AMEN, Cira!!  I do so love shrimp!  Even now, I'd be lost without it.  But split pea soup?  ICK.  I can't get past the color, but I do like bean soups in general - they're a GREAT source of protein!!

MUAH!

Definitely Old El Paso Fat Free Spicy Refried Beans.  Also, pureed Chili.  Egg salad made with light mayo, a hint of yellow mustard and dash of paprika.  Tastes just like a deviled egg.

Way to go on the 49 pounds gone girlie!!!!!!! That is AWESOME!! My scale was always a lot nicer then the Doctors scale too. ha ha ha ;o)~

I love a lot of mushies including cream of wheat and oatmeal..you know the basic blah mushies when I have a low tolerance to tolerate anything else those work great. I also loved scrambled eggs and mashed taters when I was on mushies. My Docs office even let me eat the inside of a baked tater..........that was COMFORTING!!! Tomato soup and chicken broth were comforting and filling too for me at that time.

I found this link for you on mushy foods to eat with the lap band :o)

Well I had some lobster in my soup last night but I do love crab...I think I have some at home so that might be dinner or lunch tomorrow.

I just had scrambled eggs and mashed taters at the diner across from my work.  Went down good, not even stuck once.

Thanks for the link Jilly I am going to check it out.

Oh can you PM the info on the Crofton support group - I think you go right?
