Back on liquids! I need soup suggestions/recipes

Well I have been sick since Monday 2 weeks ago with sinuses...HATE THEM!  Which is one reason I have been around much.  Sitting at the computer with a pounding sinus headache is not fun.

So today I started antibiotics and you have to take them with food. I had a few bites this morning and a small sip to get the pill down...NOT GOOD!  It got very stuck and I had two mild vomiting episodes and 1 violent one which brought everything up including my meds.

So I called the Dr. to let them know which is what they want us to do.  I'm on liquids for two days and puree for two days.  I am going Friday for a schedule appointment to have my band checked to make sure it's still put!  I told them I was doing fine appetite wise so no fill this time.

I hope my band has not moved.  If anyone has recipes for thin soups for the next two days please let me know.  Obviously it has to have no food pieced.

I already missed two days of work.  Getting ANY kind of sick with the band just really throws things off.  Even coughing alot and trying to get up mucus is not good .

Here's hoping I can kick this cold without an reprocussions and be back on the boards a little more often when I am feeling up to it.  I am totally out of the loop....

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh nooooo I am sorry you are going through so much sweetie. Have you tried the Cambells soups in a cup? They have more broth and I LOVED them early out. I especially loved chicken and stars the most and Chicken and Rice too. They both were so filling and easy to tolerate........yummmm (((Hugs)))

Nikki... I hope the antibiotic you are taking isn't too big for your stoma.  In the beginning, I'd always forget about that little thing.  If they put you on some horse pills, you may need to call your primary or the pharmacy, explain your situation and have the Rx changed to a liquid.

It's not how fast you go, but that you're moving in the right direction!

You're in Gaithersburg so this is not going to help much, but the Amish Market in Annapolis has a stand that sells baggies of individual soup bases.  They have every cream soup base you can imagine including cream of broccoli, cream of mushroom, etc.  What's nice about these is that you can play with the measurements and get the consistency and flavor you like.  I bought an assortment for my boss when she had her lap-band surgery and she loved them also.

Nikki, I am so sorry you don't feel well. I also hope your band has not moved either. I hate sinus problems and do hope that your doc can get you on some other meds if that one is not being well tolerated. Take care and feel better soon.

that sounds yummy!  I definitely should make some and freeze it for fill times and other episodes.  :)  Thanks girlie!

Oh when are the syrups coming in.  We need to meet up so I can get that and the apple butter!

When is the next Crofton support group?
