Bernice! I'm so glad you are doing better and you are getting rested at your Moms. I tried to get them to let me go to my Moms after my surgery but she will be in Florida and they wouldn't let me fly!! So much for trying.  When you're feeling better I want to hear more about the leak test. I thought it was just like an xray but now it seems like it is more like an EGD?  Were you awake for that?  Feel better!!

Kelly -

Usually the leak test is more akin to an upper GI, with some yummy tasting contrast!!!!  And yes, you're awake for it because you have to drink the yummy contrast so they can watch it as you stand in front of the machine.

It wasn't bad, though - I'm sure you'll be fine!

((( Bernice )))

Welcome to the losers bench!  May your continuing recovery just speed right along!

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Thanks for the update, Bernice.  I've been thinking about you.  Don't be discouraged by the insulin.  I received it for the first three days and once I was off of it... my FG has never been above 105 and my A1C has not been above 5.2.   It also sounds like Dr. McKenna took really good care of you.  It truly does make a difference when we have a doctor that shows they care about us, personally.  I remember when Dr. von Rueden called me at home to check on me after I was released and it meant so much to me.  And hey, sometimes it's a little frustrating when we can't get all those ounces down.  We want to do what we are told, but it's really tough in the beginning.  I don't know anyone that was able to get all of their liquids in at first.  Enjoy this time.  Nine months from now (and many many pounds off later) you will be on here expressing concerns for how much you can now fit in there.  ha ha   One small piece of advice... you didn't say the frequency of your drinking, but don't do your liquids too soon before or after your protein or your vitamins  Give your body some time to absorb the nutrients.

Keep us updated and I'm hear if you need me.
