3 THINGS FOR WEDNESDAY!
Good morning!! Nasty out there!! Hope everyone is making their drives to/fro safely. It rained ALLLL night long here. Normally, I don't hear anything, but I didn't sleep well. Lots to do today. Mom wants to go out and get two turkeys (Giant - 47 cents a pound!!!!), one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas. Then I'm meeting my brother for lunch at Samos and some other errands.
Today, I'm grateful for:
1. Our veterans. Not only today, Veteran's Day, but every day that we breathe free air, we should give thanks to these brave men and women who are serving for us and remember the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy living in this great country. I know things are tough for a lot of people right now, but we are truly fortunate to be living free of oppression with the choices available to us. So, thank or hug a veteran today!!!!
2. The U.S. Army!!! On an intensely selfish note, had the Army not displaced George here back in 1988, he and I might never have met. (insert silly grin) Huah!!!
3. I picked up a couple of gifts last night - some that B had really wanted and were already hard to find.
4. Presents for myself! I picked up the new Jim Brickman Christmas CD, "Joy." If you've never listened to this handsome, amazingly accomplished musician (pianist), you absolutely should. His works are good for the soul. And.....he's easy on the eyes!!! Mom & I saw him in concert several years ago - what a talented individual!
5. Pam becomes a LOSER on Friday!! Tomorrow, she'll get her own post!!
6. Bernice is successfully a loser. I canNOT wait to hear from her lips about her experience!! I know it'll have me LOL!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!
Tia
Good Morning Maryland:
Today I am grateful for:
1. As Tia said Our Veterans- to everyone that has the day off : Don't forget to think about
why!
2. For the lighter traffic then normal
3. That my parents leave for Florida today! even if it means I'm pratically on house arrest
till they get home. LOL Dad is so funny about Cuddles: He made me promise not to go bowling tonight : He's afraid she will be lonely!
PS Tia will you get to hug your George Veteran today??????? ( inquiring minds want to
know ) LOL
Have a great day everyone
WTH are YOU talking about? THIS inquiring mind wants to know, too!!! LOL!!! No clue, I did say that I would like to see him sometime before Sunday!!! LOL!!
Um....Darla? Your Dad? House arrest? You not bowling? I get it, really, but I also will promise you that Cuddles will NOT tell if you leave her for a bit!!!
Hugs,
T
LOL Mom and Dad stopped by work on the way to the airport and Mom told me to bowl my heart out LOL ! I think I'm going to go and bowl 2 of the games and leave early -
She's his obsession I guess and he just wants to be sure I don't kill her before they get home .
Mom warned me about the dozen or so notes all over the house with instructions on how to take care of her.
I took advantage of the day off and slept in this morning. The furries were even pretty good and waited until I headed downstairs about 7:20 without demanding breakfast .. lol. Got my pot of coffee going and decided today was a good day to make split pea & potato soup (yeah .. I know .. most people put carrots in their split pea, but I had potatoes . not carrots .. lol). I've got a pot of soup simmering and I figure that will be lunch for a couple of days . then freeze into lunch portions for a quick throw in the bag to take to work lunches over the coming months. Still don't have that project finished, so I've got the work laptop downstairs and several printed reports to go over to find my 'differences' .. that is number one today .. because it's GOT to be finished so I can get on with my other projects ..
I've got a pretty fair collection of Jim Brickman CD's myself .. but not a Christmas one .. need to look for that one.
I think today I will just echo your sentiments for veterans. Both my mom and dad are WWII vets, many of our friends are Vietnam era vets, and the children of friends are Desert Storm and current conflict vets. Without their service and bravery, the US would not be the great country it is.
Ok, off to the work stuff .. BLEAH.
Have fun turkey shopping!
Hugs, Mo
Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
Hey Moie -
Glad the kids let you sleep! Wouldn't it be nice if they could just pour their own cereal and sit in front of cartoons?? LOL!
Mom made some lima bean soup yesterday - it is definitely soup weather!
Every year, Target exclusively carries Jim's Christmas CD - this year's is called, "Joy." I'll give you my review tomorrow. Yes, I'm playing Christmas music in the car and have been for about a week!!!
Hugs,
T
AND .. it is WAY WAY WAYYYYYYYYY too early for Christmas music .. I'm not happy that all the Christmas stuff has been in the stores since September, but I understand it and we have even looked at some of it for decorating Mack for the Annapolis Santa Run. I want to outline him in lights .. but Mr Scrooge said he is NOT Tim Taylor and that would be overdoing it .. I haven't given up yet .. he bought a generator to run on the truck for the lights .. so I think we should take advantage of that !
I still haven't gotten to work here yet .. so I had better get to it!
Hugs, Mo

Mo: Yours is not the only furbaby that likes TV LOL
Cuddles used to jump and bark at the TV anytime there was a dog on the screen:
The drawers in the den are proof ; there are so many scratches from her attempt to get the dogs.
Shes older now so she just sits on the couch with her head on the armrest and watches the tv:
no more jumping and barking
Today, I'm grateful...
1. For our veterans. They allow us to live our lives in freedom and not in fear like the citizens of many other countries. Thank God for them...this includes my Father whom spent 23 years protecting our nation!
2. For flexeril and a heating pad. Took a flexeril and spent some time with a heating pad yesterday. Made a huge difference in my back. I'll have to get my prescription refilled before I leave on Friday.
3. For the ability to work from home. I'm savoring these few days with my furbabies before I'm off galavanting around the world again.
Great day all!
