It may be time to get shapewear folks...

From the front I look all slinky and stuff...then you turn to the side and the profile is all lumps and humps (and not in a good way like Fergie)...Since I'm too po' for plastics, I need shapewear.

Any recommendations for AFFORDABLE options. Also, I'm in the market for a sports bra...I want one that makes my boobs look cute in the gym. I am, after all, one of Beyonce's "single ladies."

Hmmm....I heard Target has a line of shapewear that's like Spanx, but cheaper.

I have no idea about a sports bra....sorry :0)

I spent a lot on my sports bra, I think might have been around 40 but I LOVE it. I do Zumba, running, everything in it and it gives me support. Plus, they fitted me for it specifically at a running store. Fleet Feet, there's one off of Reisterstown (I think in the same center as Trader joe's and Al Pacino's).

They even fit me for running shoes because I was running wrong and hurting my big toes. The shoes I ended up buying online at shoes.com becuase they were $20 cheaper and I got cash back through ebates.com

But, the bra? Oh, the bra!!! I love it, totally worth the money! but, I waited till I was pretty much 10-20 lbs within goal because then Id din't have to go through too many.

Also, for the shapewear, Bed Batha nd Beyond sells some as seen on tv stuff that's amazing for $15 And you can use the 20% off coupons. They are the type that come up to right under your bra and cover the thighs down to your knees. I wear those if I am not going to be running to the bathroom a lot.

I have somethign like this: http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?ItemTyp=C&itemID=1599fe 6&GrpTyp=PRD&ShowMenu=T&ShopBy=0&SearchString=shapewear&RefP age=SearchDepartment.aspx&s4PageSize=99&CmCatId=searchresult s&Search1Prod=True&S4Filter=N%7c4294959952%7cNtt%7cshape+wea r%7cNtk%7csearch_all%7cNao%7c0%7cNty%7c1%7csid%7c124C91132A0 C%7cNtx%7cmode%2bmatchallpartial%7cNtpr%7c1%7cNtpc%7c1&Refin ements=4294959952%7cItem+Type%7cbody+shapers

But, the one from BBB is a lot stronger hold.

For my bar nights, I have this from JC Penney (and it's half the price I paid for it): http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?ItemTyp=G&itemID=13e1ee 4&GrpTyp=PRD&ShowMenu=T&ShopBy=0&SearchString=shapewear&RefP age=SearchDepartment.aspx&s4PageSize=15&CmCatId=searchresult s&Search1Prod=True&S4Filter=N%7c0%7cNtt%7cshape+wear%7cNtk%7 csearch_all%7cNao%7c45%7cNty%7c1%7csid%7c124C91132A0C%7cNtx% 7cmode%2bmatchallpartial%7cNtpr%7c1%7cNtpc%7c1

Get it in the size smaller than your waist. They run just a little big and if you get your exact waist size, they're not as "controlling," if you know what I mean. I love the hooks at the crotch; in my opinion, they'rea lot easier to use to go to the bathroom than the other ones.

Do these things really help?  I find that putting on slacks, getting over the panni is SUCH an issue.  Will this help???

Bridget, before my tummy tuck, I relied on the shapewear from BBB for everything. It made wearing pants, skirts and dresses a lot easier and I felt like I looked better.

I am treating myself to a body magic bodyshaper..tried one on the other day and I was like "wow,." since I do not forsee a tummy tuck in my immediate future. They are expensive but well worth it!!

On the lower end check Marshall's TJ Maxx and Ross you can find Maidenform body shapers there for less than $15..

Hi there,

I don't have any advise but wanted to tell you that once you find something good that works for you. Can you please share it with us?
I am going to check out spanx a lot of people swear by it, but it is quite pricey.

Take care,
