If anyone goes to Eggface's website, she has a recipe for pureed cannelini beans that looks (and tastes) a good deal like mashed taters! Yummy!

You beat me to it.  Eggface has some great recipes for the pureed stage, as well as beyond!

Tia took most of mine.  I also did NSA applesauce with added protein powder.  You can add protein powder to any of the pureeds to up the protein count.  Many brands make an unflavored version.

LOL you are too funny!  Glad you got great advice.

I steamed shrimps with a hint of obay seasoning and put them in the magic bullet at the mushy stage it. I also made mashed potatoes with cheese & broccoli florettes mashed that in together with a little country crock margerine. Some doctors say no to mash but that was my life saver and my doc said is was fine to eat.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Tell her to pass the hint to me too. I don't like Ricotta or cottage cheese I'm afraid I'm gonna get stuck! I guess if you wanted you could write down a menu and then eat what you like, they arent going to live with you! My friend who had the surgery told me she couldnt even do the mushies because the consistency of the food made her want to barf. They let her move to the next stage with the promise she would chew chew chew! (Same office as us Bernice).  Any suggestions on where to find the Greek yogurt. My boss had some the other day but hers was regular, not low fat or SF.

I don't mean to be harsh, honest, but saying that you should write down a menu just so they can see something and then eating what you want is NOT the way you want to handle this!!  I agree, mushies DOESN'T last forever, but it's really important to adhere to the guidelines your surgeon gives you.

Think about it, you eat something solid, think you've chewed enough, yet it still gets stuck.  The ONLY way for you to get relief is by trying to bring it back up.  So, at just a few weeks post-op, when your intestines are healing, you're going to be vomiting?  Trust me, the possible ramifications are SCARY.

After RNY, it's common for our sense of taste/smell to change.  HOWEVER, after a short period of time on liquids - clear/full, mushies may seem like manna from Heaven!

Again, I don't mean to be harsh, but you REALLY need to go into this determined to do this the RIGHT way, which again, means following your surgeon's and nutritionist's guidelines.

As for the Greek yogurt, I buy mine at Giant - I buy the Fage or Chobani - plain, 0% fat, I know Wegman's carries the Fage.  Stay away from the fruit varieties - too much sugar.  Trader Joe's carries their own brand, too,

Hugs,

Tia

Tia, whoo I guess I'm bad at conveying some thoughts by typing. You aren't being harsh. Honesty is appreciated.  I think what I mean is not to cheat or lie (thats what got me this far) but I eat pretty much the same foods every day because I'm so picky so if they tell me I can't have oatmeal for breakfast everymorning I'm not sure I won't. I'm hoping on the mushies I can do watered down oatmeal during the week and eggs on the weekends! Seems like a plan I just hope none of that makes me ill!  Sorry for hijacking your posting Bernice!!!  :(

Only two more days until your big day!!!!
