St. Agnes Seminar last night

My husband and I went to listen to what St. Agnes' program was all about.  I have to say that I was much more impressed by GBMC's presentation in terms of organization, however, Dr. Singh was the speaker last night and I LOVED him.  I definitely want to meet and interview him to find out if he would be a good fit for me.  My husband really liked him too.  He didn't come with me the GBMC presentation or to meet Dr. Moen at GBMC but said he will come with me to meet Dr. Singh and will stay involved from this point forward.   I "gently" reemed him out at first for not being involved because it means so much to me to have his full support.

So anyway...that's where it stands now.  I need to set up an appointment with Dr. Singh but it probably will be after the holidays.  Anyone go to him?

And while I'm thinking about it...the crappy thing for me is that my BMI isn't quite 40 yet (it's 39.5) yet I don't have 2 co-morbidities that would pass me through insurance guidelines for the surgery as it stands.  So it's like do I gain like 2 pounds to get to the 40 BMI?

Have a great day!

Glad you and hubby made it to the seminar.  Glad you liked Dr. Singh.  I can't advise you on what you should do for the BMI.  Maybe Dr. Singh will have some good information for you in that aspect.

Best of luck!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I absolutely adore Dr. Singh. He is a fantastic surgeon and also has a great bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

Hmm would the BMI go up if your height fell a little? Or if you were weighed at the doctor's during the special time of the month when you retain water? 2 lbs isn't that much. I had the same issue; no comorbities and not enough history and not quite 40 BMI but my surgeon got me through.

Hmmm...perhaps I could slouch!  I didn't think of that...you're a genious Sylvie!

Dr. Singh also joked last night that you could always go to McDonald's and eat a nice meal and then directly go to have your bloodwork done!

I had 3 appointments when i considered weight loss surgery.  Dr. Singh was my 2nd appt.  Showed up at my first consult (no name to be mentioned) and when I got there I was told the surgeon wasn't going to be able to make it - didn't I get their call?  They had 3 numbers for me - not a single message left.  OK,not a good omen.  Rescheduled, but with trepidation...my time is valuable to.

2nd appt - with Dr. Singh.  Truly my last choice since his office was the least convenient.  Immediately, liked his manner, his confidence, his humor, his office staff - we just clicked.

Never saw another surgeon and 3 months later had my surgery.

Good luck.
