Don't put off living the life you want

There is no lesson for today. You have permission to stop thinking for a moment and just enjoy yourself. Stop looking at your computer right now and go look at the world. Rediscover the natural wonders that you walk past every day. How can there possibly be that many shades of green? Let your mind be grateful for a break. Don't think, don't strain. Let the memories of loved ones remind you of your favorite times. Close your eyes and try to smell the sunshine. Listen to your heart beat in your ears. If it's raining, smile at the thought of the flowers that will soon follow. If you're surrounded by buildings, celebrate the creative genius of human beings. See the hope, the alarm, the love, the grief in faces that stream by. Thank whomever you'd like to thank for the chance to even be here. For a moment today, don't worry about being better. Just be.

OMG I'm so emotional.... that was beautiful..... i'm gonna cry.

The part that really got me was "Let thememories of loved ones remind you of your favorite times."

It was 9 years ago today that I heard the official diagnoses that my daddy had kidney cancer.  2 days later I flew down to be with my family. I was there for a week, came home for a week, and then returned to FL for Thanksgiving.  Dad was admitted to the ICU Wednesday night before Thanksgiving.

As odd as it sounds, some of my favorite memories during this painful time were in the hospital.  So much family and friends were there.  We were doing our best to celebrate life... we even brought Thanksgiving dessert to the ICU to share with the nurses.  In the worst of situations, so many people were brought closer and faith built even stronger.

Since he passed 2 days after Thanksgiving, I do my best to enjoy life to the fullest so I don't look back with regrets.  I'm even starting to appreciate fall and winter here in MD.

Anyway, I digress. See what memories your reflection brought about today?  Don't worry, it's all good.  I sit here thinking of my daddy with a huge smile on my face.  Even one of my co-workers asked me today why I'm always smiling.  I just said "cuz I can."

Love you Cira!

Even with the painful memory of losing a loved one, the good thing we have the wonderful memories we built with them.
I can totally relate with how you are feeling.

Love you girl.

Cira and Angie, this reminds me of Stop to smell the roses. These 2 posts brought tears to my eyes. I have been so sad and really struggling since July when my Mom got sick. We just ordered pizza for the nurses who have been taking care of my Mom. They really appreciate the little things. They have such hard jobs and the stuff they deal with is stressful and emotionally draining. I have meet some of the sweetest people since my Mom has been in the hospital. Angie I have been where you were and it was so hard but I realized that those moments were something to cherish forever. As I see my Mom's life slipping away any moment is precious. Thanks for these posts.

The nurses did so much more for us than any doctor ever could.  Yes, they did appreciate all we did to show them our appreciation for what they do.
