I think all of us on here have had wonderful experiences with our surgeon and their staff.My surgeon even helped me with my gall bladder removal a yr after surgery and then a hernia repair/tummy tuck 2 years after. Then, he was on hand when I had a serious car crash and he talked to the surgeons at shock trauma in the middle of the night, explaining what I'd been through already so they'd understand my history.

I was hooked on him at the seminar. I attended 2, hated the first, loved Dr. Roe.

I did do my research on types of surgeries and narrowed it down to the ONE I wanted, then researched surgeons near me who did it.

Hello T and welcome to the MD Forum!! I live in Laurel so it ws easier for me to go towards the DC area for a Surgeon. I will tell you that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my surgeon and the hospital (INOVA Fair Oaks)  I know that my surgeon cares about *ME* as a person not me as a dollar sign.

Good morning, T!  Welcome!  First, you must put yourself FIRST, doing what you need to do for yourself.  You're doing the right thing, by looking into all options, then YOU make the decision. Don't wait, like me, at 63 having the surgery!  I had the lapband, which is exactly what I wanted, to lose weight, slowly, and hopefully not have as much skin hanging around, afterwards. Exercise is so important. I drove 3 hrs. one way, for my Dr. appts., and have another Friday, but he's certainly worth the drive, as was the surgery. Good luck and keep posting, asking for help, anytime you need it; we're all here for you, as we've been, for each other.

I like to second what everyone else has said to you.  I am glad you are looking into different doctors.

I had surgery at GBMC when Dr. Von Rueden used to work there.  My husband loved what he did for me and he then had him do his surgery. At that time Dr. Von Rueden was at St. Agnes.

We have received excellent care and we both love our surgeon.  Take your time in choosing the surgeon for you. 

I had Dr. Moein take care of me when I was sick and he was excellent very caring and diligent.
