There May be Hope for me Yet!

For those who aren't caught up on me, my surgery got postponed because my creatnine levels were slightly elevated. 1.4 is the highest of the high end... and mine was 1.41. Yes, .01 out of range.  Well, I asked my PCP to do it again because maybe I was just dehydrated or something that day. I called today and the level went down to 1.22.  I'm hoping this is good enough for my PCP to say I'm okay for surgery and don't have to wait to see a kidney doc first (appt. isn't until Nov. 25th). I haven't heard back from my PCP yet. But, if my PCP says I'm okay to go, then I have to see when Dr. S schedules me again.  Cross your fingers! I hope this time I'm really "good to go" for surgery.  I don't want any more delays!

Lisa I hope everything works out for you!!

Out of curiosity are you on a high protein/low carb diet right now? I ask because before my RNY I have my blood work done and my creatnine levels were labeled as high as well. Nothing to high to cancel my surgery but none the less they were elevated. I asked my PCP if it was possibly off because of the weird pre-op diet that I was on, and they stated it was a possibility and they wouldnt be concerned with it unless I tested high again after surgery. Luckily I was fine and things returned to normal for me after surgery so hopefully yours will too!

Best of luck.

No, they didn't put me on any kind of diet before surgery - just clear liquids the day before. But I had my blood test done on a Monday and I tend to not drink enough water on the weekends. So, I think I was dehydrated. I made sure I drank PLENTY of water the second time around.
