My OH friend from Canada, Ron, with whom some of you have "talked," is home and recovering.  He had surgery on the 14th, but ended back in the hospital with some infection at his drain tube site.  Damn those drains!!!!

Anyway, I talked to him this a.m., he's doing better, and feels, as do I, that he'll feel even better once the tube comes out - next week, I think.

I've been so worried about him, so I'm glad to hear he's home.  That he was tormenting me online this a.m. says a lot!!!!

And.....are you ready for this?  He's on mushies.................and his surgeon's protocol says:

MUSHIES FOR 60 DAYS!!!

OMG!!!  I can't even begin to imagine.  So I'm going to compile a list of things he can eat on mushies.  I swear to Dog, I think I'd lose my mind.  But he can do it!!!!

So, give a shout out to Ron here (cause he lurks), and if you can think of anything that helped save your life on mushies, chime in!!!

Thanks,

Tia

Ron,

I am so glad that you are doing better. I am sorry you had to deal with that infection. Glad it's cleared up and it should be smooth sailing from here!

Wow 60 days on mushies?  I know you can do it and you will get lots advice on what to eat to help those 60 days easy on ya.

Cira

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

I actually LOVE mushies and think that with my "food" issues I should try and stick to these more often.

My favorite mushies (not sure if he can have all these)

-Pureed Wendy's chili with greek yogurt

-Greek Yogurt with fresh pureed strawberries

- Pureed broccoli or peas with a wedge of laughing cow light cheese YUM YUM!

- My wanna be crab dip - pureed crab meat with ff cream cheese, a little old bay and worcestershire sauce served warm

- pureed sweet potatoes with a little light butter and either splenda or a few drops of vanilla and/or SF caramel syrup!  yum yum yum

- My pumpkin no bake cheesecake filling (that I eat like pudding or mousse).  3 TBLS of canned pumpkin, 2 TBLS of FF cream cheese, a little vanilla, a teaspoon or so of dry mix of vanilla or cheesecake SF pudding mix.  and a packet or so of splenda.  Blended up yum yum...for a more whipped texture add a a spoon or two of coolwhip.  (could also add a little unflavored or vanilla protein powder in place of the dry pudding mix)

 - Meatless vegetarian meatballs blended with some marinara - major protein here!

If I think of anything else I will udpate.

Welll......that depends - what does your damn book say??  LOL!!!

Seriously, you may have the no tomato sauce rule for a while - if not, yes, you can puree it - beans are good protein.

I'm at my brother's right now, getting ready to go to dinner (us old folks like those early bird specials), so I'll think of some good things for ya!!!

MUAH!!
