3 THINGS FOR THURSDAY

Good morning!!  This has been a hellish week and I'm glad it's over.  That being said, today I'm grateful for:

1.  The friends that I have who have checked on me over the past few days.  I've ignored phone calls, emails, texts and pm's because I just didn't feel like talking, although I do appreciate them.  Mikey (Skulldoctor) was a good friend to me - hell, when I thought Dad had cancer, he asked me if I wanted him to come out and help - that's more than I got from a lot of people I previously considered friends.  I'm tired of seeing him ripped apart on other boards by people who didn't know him.  I hope that he can now rest and that his friends can somehow learn to live without him.  Suicide, even accidental suicide, has ramifications that no one can conceive, and while it IS an ultimately selfish act, it's complex to its core and devastating.  So, to all of those who have expressed their condolences to me and Mikey's other friends, I say thank you.  To his detractors on here and other boards, who have used his death as an excuse to point your fingers at him and act so high and mighty, I bid you, on his behalf, a big, loud STFU!

2.  For my beautiful talented girl.  We received notice yesterday that K won second place in Baltimore County for a poster her art teacher entered on her behalf in a Brotherhood/Sisterhood contest that was held last year.  Apparently, these posters were displayed in various State buildings last school year and voted upon by educators.  The ceremony will be held next week and hopefully, I'll have some pictures to share with all of you.  I'm constantly amazed at the talent and dedication displayed by my young lady!  She is truly exceptional!

3.  That it's my Friday. Nuff said.

4.  That although George has been working a lot of hours and I haven't been able to see him, he's feeling better and has been keeping in touch with me.  Come on, December!!!! LOL!!

Have a great day and weekend!!!

Good Morning Maryland:

Tia first of all I'm so sorry about Mike  and all the pain his friends are going thru:
second:  congrats to K on the poster -  You have every reason to be proud of her.

As far as not wanting to talk about Mike :  I respect your feelings and won't bring it up

Just know your friends are here if/when you want to talk.

Today I am grateful for

1.  The ability to laugh at myself:  last night was a terrible night bowling -  The last game I
finally got 3 marks:  2 strikes and a spare:  My teammate then told me I have a new game show

title:  TWO AND A HALF STRIKES lol i COULD NOT HELP BUT LAUGH!

2.  Its Thursday so that means Pool classes at the gym!

3.  Planning on going to a bowling halloween party :  Thinking about dressing up like

Tony Siragusa:  LOL have my old jersey and its big enough now I can roll up

towels  for shoulder pads LOL
By the way :  AMF has a great deal Saturday:  2 hours bowling and shoe rental $7.00

Costume contest and trick or treating!  there is also a deal for $40.00 : bowling for
six people and a large pizza and pitcher of soda.

Have a great day everyone.!

Thanks, Darla!

At least you can laugh at yourself!!!  And bowling's supposed to be all about fun, anyway, and I know you enjoy it.

KB and their parents will be at our house.  Normally, I would make chili, but this year, I'm making baked ziti with Italian sausage and salad.  Brownies, too, of course, or B would never speak to me!!  LOL!!

You could always go as a sexy Goose and wear the jersey as a dress!!  LOL!!!!

Hugs,
Tia

Morning Tia - glad to see you posting today.

I'm keeping mine short and simple today so here goes:

1.  It's Friday eve; and only a few days away from when I can get an extra hour of sleep in.
2.  It's our 2nd anniversary this coming Sunday.
3.  I have so many homework assignments due in the next few weeks and I'm starting to get motivated to get them done.
4.  I found out that the Maryland Housing & Community Development has a program called Homeownership for Individuals with Disabilities; now it's just a matter of waiting to find out if they would consider my disability "substantially limiting one or more major life activities"  I can't hear jack without my hearing aids.    We are so ready to just get into a house so we can stop paying money for a place that we'll never own.
5.  I'm getting more and more excited about going for that Master's Program in the Procurement & Contract Management at UMUC next fall.

Everyone have a great day!

Happy (early) anniversary!

I love UMUC - I'm working on my 2nd masters in Management there with a Health Care Administration concentration.  I love the online program.  I did take this semester off for surgery, but I'm looking forward to signing up again this winter.  Good luck with your program!

Hey girlie!!!!

Jerry's put up with you for two whole years?  Wow!!!  LOL!!!  I hope you two have a nice dinner or something to celebrate!!

I've been meaning to ask - do we still have roommates?

Does insanity count as a disability?  Cause you know we'd write letters of recommendation for you!!  LOL!

You never cease to amaze me with your dedication to your schoolwork!!  I so admire you for that!

Hugs,

T

Yes we still have roommates.  And they want to tag along to our new home if we buy one.  So that means I need to find one that has at least two bathrooms - and I'd prefer 4 to 5 bedrooms, so I can convert one into a rubber room/ sanity room.

Just last night, after Jerry worked a 12 hour day at his job, he came home wanting to chill out for a bit before coming down for dinner.  He didn't want to sit in the living room because I had the windows open and curtains open, I was trying to bring in fresh air from outside, as it was already too warm in the townhouse when I got home.  So, he decides he'll go upstairs - take a shower, well....Megan was in there taking a shower - so he goes into our bedroom.  During this time, I'm fixing dinner, and the heat was building up upstairs - the bathroom door is closed so heat's not escaping through the skylight, their bedroom is closed because I want it that way, and of course, Jerry's in ours behind a closed door.  The smoke alarm goes off, it's extremely heat sensitive and I've called the rental office about this - they say it's nothing they can do - they have the same alarm throughout all the rental townhomes.  Well, when the "heat" alarm goes off, I couldn't open the bedroom door because I wasn't sure what Jerry was doing, he could have been dressing, and there's two other ladies upstairs.  In frustration of not being able to chill out, he leaves the townhouse and goes to sit in his pick up.  He said he felt like he walked into chaos.  I gently reminded him that he was the one who was okay with the roommate situation, not me.  But the point of it was - the poor guy worked hard all day long and really needed to chill.  And it wasn't possible last night.

He waited until Amy & Megan went back upstairs to their room before he'd shower, and eat dinner.  I feel bad for him.

UGH!!!!  Of course, it's your decision, but as you and Jerry BOTH have the right to come home to peace and quiet at your discretion, I'd seriously think twice about letting them move in!!!!!!  Just my nickel's worth!
