A wow moment from a Bander :)

Just last night, I saw the commercial for Lap Band. You know, the one that has several people saying, "I'm ready"? They had in little white letters in the bottom of the screen when a female who I assume to be the Holly that the caption was about, "Holly lost 100 pounds in 3 years."

Holy guacamole - I am 10 months out and lost at least 102 pounds. GRINZ

I thought it was so cool.

very cool. my cousin has the band and has lost i am guessing 50-60 lbs so far. she started at a very high weight. i am hoping she will do well. she hasn't even gotten a fill yet! she got banded in may. the doc said unless she stops losing, he won't fill her. she has about 150 lbs to lose. I am rooting for her. i was too afraid to get the band! afraid i would fail. glad that you are doing so well with it!

WOW!!!! You are doing AWESOME CANDY!!!!! My friend from school had the lap band in 2007 and she has lost 94 pounds as of last month. She said it has been super super slow for her. I guess it depends on each persons diet and excerise with the band. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angie - I don't think they would want me on the Lapband commercial - it could be considered deceptive with everyone thinking they would lose the 100 pounds in the first year. I could be setting a bad example.......

I think that Dr. Singh and I found that green zone quickly and that's how we're successful with this band.

As for the other banders, I root for them, and wish them the best! That includes your friend Jilly!

Nicole, Cathy Carr at our doctor's office said that they had one patient who didn't need a fill, and never got one, and he had surgery 2 years prior. He didn't need one because he was losing at a good pace. Sometimes, just having the band there is enough restriction. She also said that there were a few who didn't need it for 6 to 9 months because they were doing so great. So, I think your cousin is doing great without having a fill, that is so awesome! Give her a high five for me.

And on November 19th, I'm to go for my physical. I think my doc will be in for a very pleasant surprise when she sees the progress. I last saw her earlier this year.

Candy nice going! You look great too! Of course you know Im very jealous but in a good way. I tell Marty everyday I hate him but I love him. lol.

Candy that is so great that you found your zone and can work your tool so well. You should be an example and they can put at the bottom "results not typical"
