I feel like a failure...
I'm sorry I have disappeared. I feel like a failure. My weight yesterday morning was 189. My year appointment is in 2 months. I am supposed to be at 170 by that appointment. I only lose 5 lbs a month. I will not be where I'm supposed to be. The doc didn't think I was doing well at my 6 months appointment. He thought I should have lost more. He told me I was too heavy to run. (I am in week 7 of Couch to 5 K and can run for 25 minutes so far.) Ever since that appointment, I have disappeared from here. I exercise a lot and eat right. I only eat about 600 calories a day when I manage not to snack. I snack. Doc says no snacks, but I get so hungry. I make good choices when I snack, but really feel like I shouldn't. Then I'm stuck with guilt... :::sigh:::
Thanks for reading my rant!

You may feel like a failure but you are not an actual failure. I was at an OH conference this past weekend and the MC guy said something interesting. He said when you say "I only lost ..." you are not only putting yourself down but everyone else down who has lost that amount of weight. Would you treat your friend this way or look at what they accomplished and say that? Please be nicer to yourself!! Also, to be honest, 600 calories a day doesn't sound like enough to me so no wonder you are always hungry. but that is just my opinion.
Hey sweetie.........YOUR NOT A FAILURE!!!!!!!!!!!! Get that thought out of your head. Dr K is hard on us and he does it because he KNOWS WE CAN DO IT!!! But you get to WHAT YOUR GOAL IS not what HIS GOAL IS and you will be fine!!! You still have that tool and it is an amazing tool at that. You can pick up speed at any time that you want to and you will be back on track.
Try to walk 30 minutes 3 days a week ATLEAST to keep the pounds shedding regularly. About two pounds a week will be good at this point. AND YOU CAN DO THAT!!!! I know you eat right and that is a GOOD THING because so many people do not!!! But your doing what you have to do you just need to pick up the pace that's all honey. He was on me about that too when I saw him. He wants me at 150 by my one year appt in Dec. I said "Well that is your goal and 160 is my goal so if I am at 160 for my height I will be TICKLED PINK" and he just laughed at me. He knows I am proud of myself. You get to where YOU FEEL YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR GOAL!!! Make sure your drinking enough.........................the more water you drink the faster you will lose your weight too. I learned that the HARD WAY! I wasn't drinking enough and hit two stalls and Nadja had to get on me. Then when I started drinking my Splenda Ice Tea around the clock the pounds were coming off again.
YOU CAN DO IT!! If you need ANYTHING you LET ME KNOW!!!! We are all here to support you and you can walk in that appt with your HEAD HELD HIGH!!!!! Love ~Jilly~

Thanks guys! It's so nice to know you guys are here to support me. :)
Jilly, I exercise a lot more than the 30 min 3 x a week. I do 35 - 40 min runs (10 min of it is walking warm up and cool down) and yoga for an hour 3 -4 times a week. And then I get a couple of hour long walks in a few times a week to try to get my hubby to exercise a litte. My calories from exercise are at least 500 a day. Eating the three meals is just killing me. I only have 90 calories left if you subtract my exercise. That's only 1 hour of sleep...

I'm sleeping. LOL I was just saying that after the exercise, i only leave myself enough calories to sleep for an hour. :) I'm just very frustrated with the no snacking thing. I just don't feel i can get in enough with my activity levels. I have a very physical job too. Sorry to anyone that has doctor K but, a lot of times I don't feel like i get a lot of info from the nutrionalist. She just says no snacking and to eat protein.
I do not see you as a failure at all. you've gotten good advice from those more experience than I am.
if you need to snack and your snacks are stuff like veggies or protein or fruit then I can't see a problem with it... personally as long as you are losing.
I know that every doctor is different. we are supposed to eat protein 3-5 times PER DAY that means 3 meals and 2 snacks....
if your ONLY failure is eating a snack or two per day and you are still losing I'm not sure why you think you are a failure.

Honey you are NOT a failure! Look at all the weight you have already lost! What a great accomplishment that is. Also HELLO running 25 minutes on a treadmill, I bet you the average American cannot even do that, so KUDOS to you for a job well done!!
My only suggestion would be to UP (yes I said it) your calorie intake. 600 seems very low if you ask me and since you are excersizing it seems extremely low.
Maybe if you are worried about adding snacks in, do a protein shake or bar instead?!?
You have done so well, NO need to feel guilty!!
