Really Hungry Today
And I just can't seem to get full on anything and only satisfied for a short time. I feel like I could just keep eating and eating today.
Anyone have these days? I'm afraid it's going to be NO because most RNYers don't have the same flexibility as bandsters who are not a full restriction but dag gone it I don't know what is going on today.
Yesterday am I could barely get anything down but as the days go on I get more hungry and always more hungry at night time. I've been getting stuck more too because since my fill I can't eat the same things I used to but still not really full or staying full that is.
I'm trying not to fall off the wagon here. I already did yesterday....

I had some fruit and a boiled egg for breakfast.
Kashi meal for lunch Chicken and veggies (whole grains, fiber and protein)
Protein bar a short while after - since I was hungry and I was still hungry after that.
Now I just had some cashews and well I won't be having them again cause they didnt go down so well.
I have been having issues with my fluids for like 2 weeks or so because of the waiting to drink after eating so sometimes I only get in 48oz or so which I know I have to work on.
I just don't know why my appetite is up. If this is something that is just today I can deal but continuously no...I'm due for my 2nd fill in two if I think I need it, so many I do....they say it takes several fill before getting restricted. But then again with the band, restriction seems to fluctuate.

Yes, I've heard that it takes a while to reach your "sweet spot" regarding fills.
This is JUST my opinion, but since you know protein will keep you full longer, while you're hungry, take away the fruit, add another egg white, or a cheese stick.
Those Kashi meals, again, just my opinion, they don't have a ton of protein compared to eating, say, some chicken or fish and some beans.
And yes, you DO need to up your water, but that will come with time, as will finding what works for you restriction-wise.
HTH,
Tia
I agree about the meals but in a pinch at least I know what's in it. I don't plan on eating them daily but it's sure better than going and getting something from the fill it up yourself bar downstairs that is probably loaded with grease.
I really wish I had the oomph to cook more. When I do I know I am on track and again exactly what is in the stuff.
I generally try to at least do some berries for fruit because I have issue too with fiber...
Trial and error over here...daily...but I think that comes along with the lifestyle change.
I could eat milkshakes, ice cream, mashed potatoes, and cream soup everyday because I know they will slide but I choose not to.
I think I need to go back to my old standby for lunch...chili! Seems to have everything I need and is generally always satisfying.

Hi Nikki ;o) I go through this too honey. Its usually when its close to time for Aunt Flo to arrive. I have to drink more during that time so I am full more and when I do snack its on cheese or almonds something that will fill me and add protein. You wont fall of the wagon...you will get use to it. It was so hard for me at first because my surgeon kept saying it was head hunger only and I said "but I feel it in my stomach" lol :o)~ But now I have been able to deal with it better. Good luck to you. ;o)
I think I am just going to have to get creative with a some proteins I can cook for snacks. Like maybe have some soy sausage links I can nuke for a snack or maybe some small chicken skewers or something along with cheese. etc. otherwise I am going to be at these carb laden junk food that feels good in the head but puts me to sleep and makes me more hungry.
Im going to be better prepared for tomorrow in case things start acting up again.

Nikki I feel your pain.
I can't really addess how I deal with is post surgery since I'm not there yet. but I can tell you the pre-surgery my best times (meaning the times I was most in control) involved limited fruits, NO SUGAR, no white flour, no white potatoes... limited starcy veggies but tons of greens and protein.
a great crunchy salty protein snack is turkey pepperoni chips. lay them out in a single layer on a double layer of paper towel and nuke them till they start to crisp. Eat them like chips.

Ladies I was just thinking something along those lines. Someone also posted about a turkey stick from costco or something.
Also I'm thinking of maybe getting like cooked ham or turkey and not have them slice it, just cut me a chunk and cut bite size pieces of the meat and maybe do a meat and cheese snack that way. I can't do sliced lunch meats anymore they make me slime.
