Hi everyone here on the Maryland board. Seems like everyone here is doing well. I have been lurking and waiting and waiting. My insurance company has had my paperwork for over two weeks. I am trying to keep busy and find other things to keep my mind on. Hope to get a surgery date soon. Thanks for letting me talk!

Hi Pam! I'm glad you decided to come out of lurkdom!!!

If I were you, I'd call your surgeon's office, see if they have an answer yet, and if they say no, call the insurance company. Unfortunately, you'll find that it's not always wisest to sit back and wait for them to call you. While it's of major importance and a life changing event for you, to them, it's just all in a day's work!

I'm glad you decided to join us! There are some LOVELY people here!

Welcome Pam - I too recently "delurked." There a lot of helpful people here who have compassion, knowledge and know how to share it with you without making you feel like a dummy. I am grateful for them and urge you to ask any question lingering on your mind - I am sure someone has the answer for you

Hi Pam - I was really lucky with my approval - I got it in less than 48 hours. But I also got a tip from my surgeon's office - to call the insurance company and call often. It wasn't an issue with me, but I do know that my insurance case worker says they work faster on the claims where the patient is motivated and involved.
