Anyone know a Nephrologist....
Does anyone know a Nephrologist (kidney doc) that is not booked until Thanksgiving??? I'm trying to hurry up and get in to see one so I can get the ball rolling again on surgery. I've tried the kidney docs at John's Hopkins Bayview and one that my PCP recommended in Towson. I have an appointment for Nov. 23rd, but would love to find someone who can get me in sooner. Any of the others I've called are booked until Dec. or Jan. ugh.
I'm going in to see my PCP doc tomorrow in hopes that maybe she can talk to the Nephrologist she referred me to and see if they can get me in sooner, even though it's not an "emergency".
Yeah, my creatnine is .01 over the high end. That is why they post-poned my surgery. I know they are being safe.. But that's just like my life ! lol I'm hoping I was just dehydrated or I may have a stone that hopefully I can flush out. I've cut out ALL caffiene and am drinking tons and tons of water. I've been through a lithotripsy before (where they shoot lasers in there to break of the stone). That is not too bad, so I'm hoping if it's a stone they can do something like that really quickly. I almost feel like faking pain and going to the hospital to see if they can move this along! LOL

I know you are frustrated, but I had the same trouble trying to get my mom into see a Nepherologist a few years ago. They are soooooooo booked up it takes forever! Having your PCP make a special request to get you in earlier might help. Call the secretary every couple of days to see if there is a cancellation. Maybe she will keep you in mind and call you when one becomes available. Keep us posted. Pam

I'm sorry I didn't respond on your "surgery cancelled" post, but I really AM sorry, yet relieved. Sorry, of course, for you, but relieved that Dr. S. is as professional and good as they say - thank God - what if surgery had proceeded and something happened? You want to be as healthy as possible (yeah, I know - weird), when you have your surgery - it's a big enough surgery on its own without adding complications.
I can't put my hands on it right now, but when I go to work tomorrow, I'll look up the name of my Dad's kidney doc. He has offices at Franklin Square, so it's close to home for you.

Sorry, of course, for you, but relieved that Dr. S. is as professional and good as they say - thank God - what if surgery had proceeded and something happened? You want to be as healthy as possible (yeah, I know - weird), when you have your surgery - it's a big enough surgery on its own without adding complications.
