I've been a bit quiet lately...

I'm still here...lurking a bit.  Just been in a "mood" for the past week or so.   I've been at battle with myself an food..as expected.  I was told I'd go back to pre-surgery appetite before I got my first fill and boy they were right.  While my choices of food have been decent, I've just been eating more to feel satisfy and find myself never really getting there.

An in addition to my scare tissue scare last week, I got another bomb dropped on me with insurance.  A $22K bill submitted to Carefirst BCBS and them paying a whole whopping $1,265.00 of that to my Dr. and me ****ting serious bricks about the entire thing financially.  And then of course came the regrets and frustration again as to why the hell did I jump head first into surgery and not research options more with possible in network Dr.'s yayayaya and blah blah.

I literally have been feeling like my ass is 6 feet under WITHOUT a damn shovel.  Give me some time to claw myself out here and I'll be back more frequently!

Hope everyone is well.

Nikki

Nikki,  I'm sorry to hear about all the problems.

Did you call the insurance to make sure the payment is correct?
Did you call the doctor to see what he's going to accept?

I hope things smooth out for you soon.

Nikki~ that is awful. I cant even imagine having that stress. Does your Doctor know of a way to write a note to make it as "medically needed" so that it would be fully covered or darn near?  I have heard of people getting notes like that for their insurance. Im so sorry. I hope you find resolution soon. I cant even imagine but I hope you continue on this path....it will all fall into place. Dont give up. ;o)

Yes it is all very stressful.  I blame myself though  Again for not researching more and going with an in network Dr.

I did get some resolve.  The Dr. wants 9K total so my portion less the CRAPPY CRAP 1265.00 paid by BC is just about $7,700.  Not great but manageable.  So far that is only $265.51 per lb haha.  I am one expensive piece of meat .

I'll figure it out...comes a really crappy time - holidays etc.  I hope the lady in the office is nice enough to ive me a statement of the whole bill...I should at least be able to claim some on my taxes this year...I HOPE

good luck with everything nikki. give your band a chance to work. you still need your fills and once you get that, i understand that helps ALOT. start getting some exercise in. i know that is very helpful to all people losing weight. for me, i have a very big appetite despite having rny and exercise seems to be the only way to control my weight and my appetite. good luck!
